Situated in the beautiful Combs valley between Combs village and Chapel en le Frith this spacious, modern property has uninterrupted views across to Castle Naze and Combs Moss. Popular with walkers, this holiday home is close to the Goyt valley, Kinder scout and Mam Tor. The cottage consists of two large double bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious lounge/dining room, modern fitted kitchen with all amenities and a conservatory overlooking the patio and large garden with views across the valley. The space Pheasant’s Bank is a beautifully situated, two storey stone cottage with private parking for two / three vehicles. Built around 1990 the hosts purchased the property in 2017, Pheasants Bank is a fully self-contained property adjoining the host’s home. Stylishly refurbished throughout in December 2024. Through the private front door is a hallway leading to the ‘peacock’ bedroom which overlooks the extensive gardens and the Combs valley across to Castle Naze, opposite the bedroom is a wet-room bathroom with walk-in shower, hand basin and toilet. The lounge / dining area is situated at the end of the hallway, with adjoining fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, washer-dryer and fridge freezer. A conservatory with comfy seating is located off the lounge and leads outside to the large paved patio, dining seating area, BBQ and large lawned garden. The patio is south facing and enjoys the sunshine all day long. The main lawned garden is shared with the hosts, however guests have their own, extensive private seating / entertaining area. Stairs from the lounge lead upstairs to a fully furnished, large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, views again across the golf course and Combs valley. The bathroom contains a roll top bath with shower attachment, handbasin and toilet. There is a small reading area at the top of the stairs with a selection of novels. Pheasant’s Bank is located between Chapel-en-le-Frith (approx. 2 kms) and the village of Combs (approx. 2kms), overlooking Chapel-en-le-Frith golf course and Combs valley. Combs village is a pretty Derbyshire village consisting of local stone cottages clustered around a fantastic pub The Beehive, we strongly recommend this for dining out but it’s worth booking particularly at the weekend. Chapel-en-le-Frith is historically known as ‘the Capital of the Peak’, situated at the gateway to the Peak District (England’s first National Park), to the north lies the area of the Dark Peak, consisting of rugged millstone grit uplands including Kinder Scout (20 mins drive). To the East lies the White Peak, typically limestone grassland areas including Castleton village and the Hope valley (15 mins drive). There are numerous walks straight from the cottage door including Castle Naze and Combs Moss to the south; a gritstone edge which dominates the valley and to the north Eccles Pike provides commanding 360-degree views of the local area. The tram lines walk runs from Chapel-en-le-Frith to Bugsworth canal basin and through to Whaley Bridge, where there are popular coffee shops and pubs. Whaley Bridge also has a Tesco supermarket. There are numerous attractions and walks within an easy drive from Pheasant’s Bank: Attractions include; Buxton spa town, Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Castleton and Hathersage. Walks include; Stanage Edge, Goyt valley, Monsal trail, Ladybower reservoir and the Derwent dam. Local amenities to the cottage include The Hanging Gate pub and restaurant (2-minute walk) renowned for its seasonal decorations around Halloween and Christmas, The Beehive (20-minute walk) traditional village pub and eatery. Chapel-en-le-Frith has numerous pubs and restaurants, many small independent traders and coffee shops and a large Morrisons supermarket and petrol station.
