Mountain retreat with fjord view
Description
Enjoy this unique and tranquil getaway. A wooden cabin situated in a summer meadow 800 metres above the majestic Sognefjord with panoramic fjord and mountain views. During summer, the cabin provides easy access to hiking and off-road cycling trails. It is also an excellent base for exploring the Jostedal national park and glacier, as well as cultural sites along the Lustrafjord. During winter, it is a ski-in/ski-out dream place for cross-country and back-country skiers. The space The cabin has a practical and modern design. On the ground floor, there is an open-plan kitchen and living area, two bedrooms, a WC and storage room. Overlooking the living room, accessed via a pull-out ladder, there is a mezzanine floor which leads to two bedrooms. In the living room, there is a modern wood-burner which heats the cabin efficiently and creates a cosy atmosphere. Outdoors, on the southern side of the cabin, there is a large terrace, where you can relax and soak up the views. The cabin has a WC with a gas-driven incinerator toilet and a small wash basin. There are no bath or showering facilities. Guest access You have access to the entire property. Other things to note There is no parking at the cabin. It is not allowed to drive up to the cabin. You must park at the Brunestegen car park which is approximately 1 kilometre from the cabin. You will need to walk approximately 15 minutes up a rough track to reach the cabin. You will encounter grazing animals. You must not allow such animals to pass through any gates with you. You must close all gates behind you. During winter, when there is snow on the ground, you will need to use skis or snowshoes, to get to the cabin. All bedrooms have beds with single duvets and pillows. You should bring your own bed linen (duvet cover, sheet and pillow case or sleeping bag). Bed linen may be rented on request for NOK 150 per set. The cabin is not connected to mains water or electricity supplies. A filled canister of water will be provided by the host. You should also bring your own drinking water. The cabin has a solar power electricity system installed, which provides a minimum and temporary power supply, so bring a head torch to use when it gets dark.
