Other things to note Noise: From late December to April, our barns are full of expectant ewes and newborn lambs. Shepherds View sits just a few metres from one of these barns, so you may hear the sheep in the background—especially at feeding time, when they can become quite vocal while waiting for their dinner! Although we’re in the middle of the countryside, this is very much a working farm. Most of the time it’s a peaceful place to stay, but you may occasionally notice a passing tractor, flocks of sheep being moved, haymaking machinery travelling to and from the yard on hot summer days, or—in the winter months—the sound of pregnant ewes in the nearby shed as they wait for lambing time. Kitchen: The kitchen is a full working kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and a gas oven. It's worth noting that the oven is a traditional gas oven with hob and grill, and that the oven isn't fan powered. We leave a complementary fire set up for you outside on each stay, more logs are available to purchase at a suggested donation of £10 a box
