Grandma’s House
Grandma’s House
Description
Your home away from home back home. You’ll be right down the street from your parents, the football game, your Uncle’s deer stand, & just minutes from Dixie Cream Donuts for some quick nostalgia. Two full beds, one bath with a walk-in shower, & large living room windows so you can gaze out at the streets you grew up on over your morning coffee. Grandma Sharon loved having company, & we are happy to have you too. The space The living room light is immediately to the left of the front door as you enter. The coat rack belonged to my late Uncle Mike Howe (he’s a local celebrity in Benton, so if you name drop him at a Benton bar, you might get an extra pour in your drink). The tv in both the living room & the master bedroom are less than a year old, are both smart tvs, & you’re welcome to login to your streaming accounts, or enjoy what movies are available on Prime. Each bed has a side table & lamp, & the master bedroom has extra bed linens if you need them. I or my good friend Katie clean after each guest visits. Fresh sheets, pillow cases, & towels. Katie covers me on weekdays so I can focus on my regular job. On the weekends, I will typically stock milk, butter, eggs, coffee, & creamer in the kitchen, & I love to put out fresh flowers for company just like grandma enjoyed, when time allows. The WIFI router is in the second common room in the center of the house, formerly grandma’s dining room. If it gives you issues, unplug the router, count to 5, then plug it back in. This fixes the issue 9 times out of 10. If you still have issues, message me. My mom works for the cable company & I may be able to annoy her enough at work to have her send someone out ASAP to resolve said issue. Everything else is pretty self-explanatory. I keep some of granny’s dresses in the closet of the second bedroom to sort of bless the house & keep her memory alive. I hope you don’t mind. Her favorite photos still hang on the walls & her refrigerator magnet is a memorial to her missed holiday dishes. The pots, pans, & Tupperware cups are all granny’s originals, so please use them lovingly & leave them for the next guest to enjoy. I have been putting my own money into giving the house a face-lift, one room at a time. I recently began bringing Grandma Sharon’s precious things back into her home for my guests to enjoy, as well as some books & other local treasures from my youth. It is an old home, so please be kind to it. It has been well-loved & well-lived in for many years to many members of my family. I hope you enjoy staying here as much as I have since I was 5 years old. Guest access Grandma’s house is completely yours to enjoy. Other things to note Parking is right out front of Grandma’s House, & the porch light is motion sensor.
