A peaceful rural retreat in the heart of southern France. Located just outside the picturesque village of Pech-Luna and near the medieval town of Mirepoix, Loustal Beau is an elegant and spacious gîte within Le Domaine de Loustalviel. It provides an ideal escape for travellers seeking to immerse themselves in nature, history and southern French culture. The space Set within three acres of secluded lawns, meadows and award-winning gardens, Loustal Beau offers private terraces for outdoor dining and barbecues. At the heart of the grounds is a 12-metre heated swimming pool, with uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside. Loustal Beau is officially rated four-star by the Meublés de Tourisme, reflecting a high standard of comfort and amenities. Its double height ground floor and galleried bedroom floor offer breathtaking views of the Pyrenees. On the ground floor, there’s an airy open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with a wood burning stove (and underfloor heating) for winter evenings. French doors open out onto a shaded barbecue and outside dining area, which is surrounded by secluded lawns and gardens. In the upstairs gallery there are two bedrooms (one double and one twin), both with en suite bathrooms (the twin room has a bath as well as a shower). Loustal Beau is equipped with high-speed wifi, TV with streaming services and bluetooth hifi, electric oven and hobs, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, espresso machine, kitchen crockery and utensils, Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels (including pool towels), iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Cots and high chairs are available on request. The swimming pool is bordered by a pétanque pitch and outdoor table tennis for guests to enjoy. Le Domaine de Loustalviel is ideally placed for exploring one of France’s most fascinating regions. From dramatic mountain landscapes and hilltop Cathar castles to vineyards, lakes and prehistoric caves, the surrounding area offers a wealth of cultural and outdoor experiences. The historic Canal du Midi is close by, as are atmospheric medieval towns and villages, while Mediterranean beaches or the ski slopes of the Pyrenees can be reached in just over an hour. The Domaine is easily accessible, with both Carcassonne and Toulouse airports within an hour’s drive.
