The Dairy Cottage, Cobbled Yard & Garden

A freshly renovated former dairy, the Dairy Cottage is a slice of paradise. This bright, cosy detached cottage combines a rural feel with all the contemporary comforts. The cottage is set in a beautiful Victorian walled garden, with views of the surrounding countryside, and a gentle 10 min walk to Lismore. The cottage shares a cobbled yard with our own house, so we are on hand should you need us, but otherwise you are entirely private. The space The laneway entrance to the Dairy Cottage leads you into an entrance room with plenty of space to leave your shoes and coats. You can also wash off any mud or sand from your outings in the vicinity, in the large Belfast sink. We provide beach towels and picnic ware. The hallway accesses a utility room with washing machine, dryer, and downstairs loo. Meanwhile, a glass panelled door brings you into the kitchen which is warmed by light from the east, south and west. The kitchen opens on to the cobbled courtyard, and looks out over the walled garden. A well-equipped space, the kitchen includes an electric double oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen table seats six, and so is perfect for long lazy holiday breakfasts and delicious evening feasts. Next door to the kitchen is one of your two sitting rooms, and this room has a Smart TV with Saorview channels and a DVD player. The sitting room is made ultra cozy by a stove and it overlooks the courtyard. All firewood is provided for the fire. Beyond this sitting room is a bedroom, which is utterly private. This has good quality, comfortable mattresses that zip and link so the bed can be configured as a large superking (180cm) bed or two single beds. From the sitting room, the stairs lead you up to a very tranquil, large sitting room - perfect for reading or board games. Bedroom two is off the sitting room. This bedroom is a spacious place with a kingsize (150cm) bed, and views of the courtyard. The family bathroom is a bright room with views of the surrounding fields, and houses a loo, sink, shower and hot press. All bed linen and towels are provided. To the left of the stairs is the master bedroom. This is a large and lofty room, with a superking-sized (180) bed. It also houses day bed with pull out trundle. Dual aspect, it has a east and south views, and a romantic ensuite bathroom with a stand alone roll top bath, perfectly positioned to soak up the surrounding views of the countryside. Guest access The Dairy Cottage shares a charming cobbled courtyard with our own house. You are welcome to enjoy this space. You also have your own private patio and lawn, enclosed by a tall yew hedge, making that is the perfect spot for afternoon tea or a drink at sunset. This patio has picnic table, seating and a charcoal BBQ. The overall property also includes our house, garden, tennis court, stables, paddocks, and a separate cottage at the other end of the walled garden. Both have their own private gardens that are clearly marked. Other things to note We have 2 friendly horses and 3 dogs.
