Description

Take a break in this tranquil loft getaway. Grandpa’s Attic is an open-space studio that offers a kitchenette for a dorm-like retreat. There is one twin-size and one queen bed to rest and gaze into the hint of indoor twinkling summer Dakota skies. The private bathroom is fully stocked (towels, soap, etc) with a shower, toilet, sink. Get cozy in the corner to watch TV, read, or enjoy a walk in the peaceful surroundings. Be sure to enjoy the local fares and sights before continuing your journey! The space This loft unit has a themed perpetual silvered capped winter decor to honor and match the aging wisdom of the grandpas in their shining silver age. The space is fully stocked with towels, linens, soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, razor/shaving cream, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, hand lotion, snacks, and some breakfast foods. It has a small griddle/pancake/waffle maker, Keurig, drip coffee, crock pot/liners, microwave, and refrigerator. The guest mode Roku TV is ready for your streams, or you can enjoy the many free channels and movies that Roku TVs have to offer. The area is across the street from the University, and is within walking distance to many restaurants, such as the family-friendly Phat Fish Brewery, the new Big Bite Tacos, among others. There is a bowling alley nearby as well as 2 playgrounds. The hospital and walk-in care are just 10 blocks away. This loft is just blocks away from the interstate exit 59 and near to exit 61 as well, which hosts many other businesses, restaurants, a theater, and pharmacies along 3rd Ave. Several of the local restaurants offer delivery, as well as DoorDash. Do take some time to savor the local flavors while you're here! In winter, we try to keep the central heat thermostat at about 70 as an average between floors. In the summer, there is a window air conditioner to customize the temperature to your style. The entrance doors are coded. The door of the unit itself also has a chain for your convenience. And the shared common laundry area is just underneath you, which you can see when entering the back door of the building. There are supplied soaps and dryer sheets. Please clean up after yourself, so every guest can enjoy the same laundry experience. Grandma's Corner Suite is below you with a separate front entrance/drive. So please, be kind, courteous, and mindful when sharing the common area of the laundry space. Don't forget the adventure opportunities with the Seasonal Medora Musical near the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. But if you wish to see the National Park with all of its 3 separate units more fully, note that it is best to spend multi-days exploring the badlands where Theodore Roosevelt himself came to roam, to work, and to heal after losing his mother and his first wife on the very same Valentine's Day. While here in North Dakota, we invite you to become a part of our history and respectfully leave your mark: There is a guest book in the unit, as well as a memory tree with leaves to sign and place on the tree just beyond the washer and dryer, right before or after you put your used linens in the bin by the outside back door of the building. Thank you for choosing us to host you as you adventure forth! We wish you safe journeys to wherever your feet may take you next! Guest access Grandpa’s door is just to the right of the backdoor entrance. It is a coded entrance as is the back door of the building. Please open the entrance door into the building slowly. It opens into the common area of the building, where you may find other guests getting supplies. There is a shaded area to the South of the house for your summer use with glider and fountain. ** The Laundry area is the common area between guest lodging and may be shared by other guests, housekeeping, or owners at any time. If any animal exceptions have been made for either guest quarters, no animals are allowed in this space. Do not wash oil clothes onsite. There are several public laundry facilities around town for bulkier objects or oil clothes. Other things to note There is an emergency flashlight and night light partially down the stairs to make aware of the stairs at night. There are 4 stair steps to the entryway door and 12 up to the bedroom floor. There is a Roku TV to be enjoyed while in bed, at the table, or while in the nook. It is set for guest mode so you can use your own apps to log in for watching TV or catch the many live channels that Roku channel has to offer. Set your check-out date and Roku will automatically sign you out for the next guest. >> Please do give your space a final look about to claim any items you brought with you, leaving it in as good of shape or better than what you found it. It helps keep our maintenance and cleaning fees low. No smoking of any form or kind is allowed anywhere inside the building. We can’t remove the odor between guests. Thank you for your understanding. This is also not the unit for parties or excessive drinking, the stairs are not accommodating. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to host you on your adventure through Dickinson, ND! Safe journeys!
