The Helm

‘The Helm’ is a conversion of an old hay barn, within reach of the best Wales has to offer. The self catering cottage is set in a Grade 2 listed stone courtyard, on a 600 acre working family farm in the beautiful countryside of Snowdonia, North Wales. The cottage overlooks the picturesque Mawddach Estuary and mountains beyond. Walking distance to the renowned George the 3rd pub/restaurant and the Mawddach Trail that spans from Dolgellau to Barmouth. The space The Helm is a spacious 2 bedroom cottage that sleeps 4. Take advantage of the views with the large floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen and living area. UPSTAIRS There is a spacious lounge, and kitchen with high set ceilings and beams throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including large fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, all cooking equipment, washing up facilities included, tv and dining table. DOWNSTAIRS There is underfloor heating throughout. 2 bedrooms - 1 double bedroom with a large fitted wardrobe and 1 twin bedroom. (Cot available on request). The bathroom has a bath and separate walk in shower and WC. All bed linen included except cot linen. Full ‘green’ central heating. - we have a large biomass boiler servicing 5 cottages. Wifi included. Fri-Fri changeover for weekly bookings. Short breaks (minimum 3 nights) available out of high season/school holidays – check in Fri & Mon only. Plenty of parking space directly outside the cottage. Outdoor dining to enjoy on dry days, as well as undercover shared outdoor seating area for the not so dry days! Dogs are NOT to be left unattended in the cottage or allowed in the bedroom. No charging of EV at the cottage, however there is a public EV charging point 300m from the property (Penmaenpool Mawddach Trail carpark). We are situated in the Snowdonia National Park, and roughly 1 hour drive from the mountain Snowdon.
