Tor Hatch, with its adjoining cottage and cosy cabin, stand in five acres of gardens, a short walk from the idyllic village of Shere, with its 12C church, pubs, restaurants and tea shops. Our home is perfect for a group get away, sleeping 10 in the main house and a further 6 in the cottage and cabin. Nestled in the Surrey Hills it is a cyclist and walker's dream. Relax by the pool, play tennis or book on site yoga classes! Perfect for families or friends. Helicopters can land in our field! The space Tor Hatch (main house - sleeps 10, in five bedrooms) Our large, comfortable family home sits in the heart of the Surrey Hills, but close to London, Gatwick, Heathrow and just over an hour from the south coast. The main house, with its separate cottage and Swedish cabin is a perfect property for a family holiday, special celebration, corporate event or a country weekend with friends. The main house sleeps ten people in five well-appointed bedrooms, each with comfortable mattresses and crisp white linen sheets. The master bedroom is en suite, and there is a further family bathroom on the first floor. Downstairs, heart of the house is the magnificent orangerie which opens onto the terrace - whatever the weather you feel immersed in the surrounding Surrey Hills and the wonderful views. This room has a large dining table and comfy seating so is perfect for larger gatherings. There is a great sense of flow, with the orangerie opening into the spacious kitchen, which is fully equipped and has a four-oven AGA and an American-style fridge-freezer. The adjoining snug has a wood burning stove and large TV, so cosiness is the name of the game! There is a second TV in the calm sitting room, which also has an open fire. Outside, enjoy the extensive grounds and manicured gardens, have a game of tennis, or swim in the pool. The open-plan kitchen and living area seamlessly flows into a bright conservatory with dining table to seat four. The kitchen has ample counter space and is well equipped. The living area is perfect for watching TV in front of a roaring fire, relaxing after a day's exploring, or just switching off and listening to music through the Sonos system. The property is full of intriguing artwork and vibrant furnishings, showcasing our passion for design and creating a sense of warmth and character throughout. The two double bedrooms are both on the ground floor and are comfortably furnished, with plenty of space to unpack your bags. The bathroom features a waterfall shower, so wash away your cares and prepare for a restful night’s sleep beneath crisp white linen sheets. Guests often mention the exceptional comfort of the beds, with their thick toppers. The conservatory opens onto a small, secluded garden, with a seating area. Make the most of this private space by enjoying an al fresco breakfast or firing up the charcoal BBQ for an evening under the stars. -------- Tor Hatch Cabin (sleeps two) Our Swedish cabin is a hidden gem, blending charm and comfort. Originally built as an artist’s studio, this enchanting retreat has been lovingly transformed into a romantic hideaway perfect for couples or solo adventurers. Step inside and discover an open-plan living space filled with vibrant artworks collected from travels in Morocco, India, and Africa. Curl up by the wood-burning stove, where you can snuggle up on chilly evenings or enjoy movie nights on the large screen TV with Sky. As you lie in bed, gaze out at the picturesque semi-walled garden, with pond and fountain. The kingsize bed is super comfortable, with a thick topper and crisp white linen. The airy bedroom and sitting area feature full-length blackout curtains, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The separate bathroom, with spacious walk-in shower, is a refreshing oasis after a day of exploring. For those who love to cook, the fully fitted kitchen offers everything you need to whip up a delicious meal. Enjoy dining indoors, or step out to the large, secluded decked area, perfect for al fresco dining, grilling on the charcoal BBQ or sipping wine under the stars. For the adventurous spirit, a woodland swing hangs invitingly from the trees. -------- Although just over an hour from London, Tor Hatch is set within beautiful countryside. Lovely walks, cycle paths, and charming pubs are close at hand. Shere is an enchanting little village nestled in the heart of Surrey. As you wander through its picturesque streets, you'll be captivated by the pretty River Tillingbourne, the village’s many thatched cottages and its 12th century church. The village centre is a treasure trove of quaint shops, inviting cafes, and traditional pubs, and even boasts an AA two-rosette restaurant. The village is in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether you’re exploring the area’s many walking trails or cycle paths, the countryside here is nothing short of spectacular. Afterwards, relax with a drink or bite to eat at the White Horse, a traditional pub with timber beams. For film buffs, Shere holds a special allure, having graced the screens of beloved movies like "The Holiday" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral." Guest access When booking the main house, cottage and cabin, guests will have access to all the grounds, tennis court and swimming pool. There is plenty of parking.
