Complete your experience as you lounge under the night sky of stars with the warmth of the open fire. The space Stable and Oak, a running dairy farm milking 140 friesian cows is surrounded by rolling hills and a natural creek line. This magnificent property is 120 years old dating back to when early settlers embarked on this area. As you enter the driveway you will notice a barn standing graciously to your right. Built in 1940 when the Morten family settled here, is where the draught horses(work horses) were stabled. You will instantly feel at home when you enter your space for the first time, taking in the magnificent view or watching the cows grazing amongst our 180 acres. Enjoy the comforts of a cosy sofa whilst watching Netflix on the flat screen. The reverse cycle split system will keep you warm on those wintery days or cool in the warmer months. Experience farming life during calving season ( May-August) when there is a lot of activity, whether it be bottle feeding or witnessing the birth of a calf. For guests wanting a self indulgence stay you can book a one hour remedial massage with myself relieving you of the day to day tension. This is from my home. Guest access You are welcome to access the area within the cabin and also into the goat paddock. Should you wish to tour the milking shed please message me or wave me down if I’m out and about attending to farm duties. Milking is 8am and 5pm everyday. Other things to note Due to the size of the cabin and being up on a level with steps we can not accomodate children. Feel free to go into our pigmy goats paddock, making sure the latch is shut behind you. Lenny( bigger goat) and Lucy (tiny goat) will love your company, especially a scratch on the neck. Bonnie and Clyde are cute but if you kneel down they will jump on your back. Feel free to take some grain from the metal bin provided to feed them. They will become your best friend. Please be mindful of our cabin access when booking. Due to having three steps up to the main entrance, this may not be suitable for people with ailments. For the safety of our guests we ask that you don’t enter the horse paddocks. Please feel free to pat horses over the fence. They would also be grateful for a carrot or two but remember to keep your fingers free from their hungry mouths. Avoid touching white horse fences, these are electric for the safety of our horses. Yellow Electric Fence signs are positioned around the property for reference.
