Description

Get away from it all when you stay on our 23 acre horse farm. Walk the lovely paths through the property or enjoy a glass of local wine on the patios or deck overlooking the forest. Take a relaxing break in the covered hot tub. Our unique home was originally a dairy barn in the 1940's. Purchased by a prominent homebuilder and converted into a 3,100 sq ft three-level home, it's now a cozy retreat with beautiful pastoral views to enjoy. All this and only 1 mile from wineries and downtown Aurora! The space Our home is three levels so there are beautiful views and vistas to enjoy! The lower level has two bedrooms, both with TVs and king and queen beds, a full bath with a tub/shower, laundry and a lounge area with a game table. The hot tub is on the patio behind this level. Outside, there is extensive patio square footage for enjoying both sun and shade and a family BBQ . We have high quality Kettler patio chairs, tables and loungers with cushions if you wish. we also have cornhole game, croquet and lots of paved driveway if you want to run remote-controlled toys! The second level has living/dining/ kitchen/craft-sunroom, outdoor deck, and master bedroom with a queen memory foam bed. The upstairs bathroom has a soaking tub and walk-in shower. There is a TV in the living room and one in the craft/sunroom off the kitchen. Astound cable offers WiFi throughout the house. Our Smart TVs are Roku operated with YouTube TV offered for your local channels as well as Netflix and the Samsung channel. The third level has a loft-bedroom with two new Serta-mattress twin beds, games, toys and books and a small dedicated work space with a desk. Our home has wood floors on the mid level and wood stairs. We can provide child gates if you request. We ask that families with toddlers or people needing assistance use caution with the stairs in this house as the wood can be slippery in stockinged feet. Kids love our property and all of the fort-building opportunities! There are lots of trails and room to roam and run, or take a picnic. Be sure to monitor your children while outside and inform them about the house rules regarding outbuildings and horses. We are on a natural working farm, where there will be pollinators (honeybees) in the spring and summer, box elder beetles in the fall and snow and ice in the winter. (We can provide a generator in the unlikely event of a power failure lasting more than one day.) There are natural hazards on the property to be aware of, such as tripping hazards from rocks, gopher holes, stumps, etc. There are abundant photo opportunities here. A multitude of wildlife to watch, especially the dozens of native bird and water fowl species. You will see spring birds nests and eggs, and sometimes wild turkeys in the field. We have provided a fully stocked spice cabinet and a multitude of pans, bowls, etc. for cooking your farm to table meals! There are seasonal crops of apples, pears, cherries, table grapes and blackberries (and of course flowers) which you can pick and enjoy while staying on the farm. We also offer fresh herbs for your cooking projects. Guest access Guests have use of the entire house. There is a beautifully-landscaped yard surrounding the house which is professionally mowed and maintained every Monday morning. In the warm summer months, the automatic sprinklers are preprogrammed to come on early in the morning. Guests have full use of the yard. We ask that toys, etc. be picked up off of the grass on Monday morning for the lawn to be mowed. We also have lovely nature trails through the woods to explore, accessible to guests. We are a farm and have several outbuildings for equipment storage and for the horses. These buildings are locked and not accessible to guests. We have a farm caretaker who lives in a small separate house on the farm as well. Please see our house rules for more detailed explanation of enjoyment of our outdoor space including dos and don'ts for pets. Other things to note We want to share our beautiful farm with you and help to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Prior to check-in, we will send you a copy of our house rules which will need to be initialed by the person "in charge" of occupying the home. The person who books the home will need to provide a valid form of government ID. We do not accept third-party bookings. While we love our furry friends, we only accept max of two medium size dogs (under 40 lbs) that are well/trained and housebroken. No puppies. For their safety since our yard is not fenced for dogs, they cannot be left unattended. We have crates and a kennel to accommodate this.
