De Oude Smederij

Enjoy and relax in the Frisian countryside? This is possible with us in De Oude Smederij, which was formerly a forge but has been completely renovated into a comfortable vacation home. The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach. The space Through the backyard you enter the property. This unit features a spacious, cozy living room with a TV, comfortable chairs, and 2 sofas. A well-equipped kitchen with a Smeg induction hob with oven, refrigerator (without freezer compartment) and a dining table with 6 chairs. In the utility room, there is a washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher. In the utility room, there is also the bathroom with a walk-in shower and a vanity. The toilet is also in the utility room. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms; both bedrooms have 2 box-spring beds, each measuring 90 x 210 cm (35 x 83 in). The beds are made, and there are plenty of towels and tea towels available in De Oude Smederij. Guest access The vacation home has a private entrance, a private, fenced-in garden (behind the house) with various seating areas/terraces, a covered area where bicycles can be kept dry, and a private parking space for the car(s) in front of the house. Other things to note We rent the house for a minimum of 3 nights and do not provide breakfast. The beds are made, and there are plenty of towels and tea towels available in De Oude Smederij. In the village there is a Spar (with breakfast service) and a lunchroom / cafeteria. In Witmarsum (4 km), you will find a wonderful indoor garden center with a restaurant, as well as an outdoor swimming pool with a wide range of facilities. And at Pizzeria Pingjum (4 km), you can enjoy super delicious pizzas to eat in or pick up. Harlingen (8km), Franeker (10km) Bolsward (8km), Makkum (12km), Leeuwarden (30km) are easy to reach by car or by bike. You can enjoy walking and cycling along the Wad and in the evening watch the sun go down there. Or a day trip by ferry to Vlieland or Terschelling (crossing from Harlingen) and Makkum with its beach and boulevard. Cleaning fee: Please pay in cash during your stay (1–2 people, €25; 3–4 people, €50). Tourist tax: We are required to pay tourist tax to the municipality (€2.20 per person per night for guests aged 12 and over). Please also pay this in cash during your stay.
