Cabin in Rocha

Inchalá Juaí (“Brother Horse” in Charrúa) is a private nature reserve located 250 metres above sea level, surrounded by hills. It comprises 5 hectares of pure native forest, with more than 120 recorded plant species and more than 9 recorded native mammal species, in addition to birds, armadillos, rodents, and reptiles. More than two hectares are inhabited by our horses, all of whom have been gentled and trained by us while preserving the horse-taming practices of our native peoples. The space It is a modern cabin (studio-style) located in the heart of the Sierras de Rocha, surrounded by lush vegetation and integrated into a still-functional ecosystem, home to many native species of flora and fauna. The cabin is equipped with electricity (renewable energy) and water (rainwater reuse), as well as a bed, sheets, towels, dishes, kitchen utensils, shampoo, conditioner, and potable water. Everything is designed for two people who wish to disconnect from the stress of daily life and reconnect with natural biological rhythms, synchronizing with the cycles of nature that the Sierras offer. There is also the possibility of picking up guests upon arrival from the city of Rocha (bus terminal) and driving them to the cabin. Guest access The chacra spans 5 hectares, featuring an entrance surrounded by native flora, a corral, four horses freely living and caring for the land, two ponds, and a native tree reforestation project. Throughout the property, you can appreciate a wide variety of native plant species with medicinal properties (marcela, carqueja, arrayán, mburucurá, among others), which can be used in moderation, with respect and care, to prepare an infusion during your stay. Our library offers a broad selection of books covering topics related to the local ecosystem and the history of indigenous peoples, including the Charrúas (local indigenous people). The collection includes archaeology, botany, history, anthropology, historical novels related to human evolution, and more. In the second half of the property, you will find "El Sendero del Sepé" (Sepé = shaman or sage of the Charrúa tribe, or the chief who escaped the Salsipuedes extermination). This medium-to-high difficulty trail, approximately 1,500 meters long, winds through a native forest (serrano-type woodland). Near the end of the trail, there is a stone structure (under study), likely pre-Columbian, possibly built by indigenous peoples. The trail ends at a stream crossing, considered the most magical and mindfulness-inspiring spot on the property. It is also possible to arrange activities related to bonding with horses, allowing for a connection with them from a worldview similar to that practiced by indigenous peoples in different parts of the Americas.
