Always leave one hand free and hold the handrail while ascending or descending the stairs Escort children on the stairs and instruct them to also use the handrail. 2. There is a protective gate in front of the basement stairs. To open, push down on the latch release on the left side while simultaneously pulling up from the center. To return the gate to the closed position, simply pull up from the center and place the latch back in the original position. 3. The Area to the left of the basement stairs is off limits to guests – there is a curtain to separate this area from the rest of the basement. Please do not enter this area. 4. The area in the basement bathroom under the lemon tree is a cover for plumbing access. Do not sit or stand on this platform. 5. Do not use the footstools in the living room as a chair, they are not intended to support full body weight. 6. Local Freight Trains run in the evening/night a few times a week, there is a horn at intersections, but trains are short, so the noise is brief. Contact your host if there are any issues or questions
