Traditional stone house

Characterful, traditional stone house in a peaceful rural hamlet surrounded by countryside. Within easy reach of the beautiful coast and beaches of La Charente Maritime, including La Rochelle and the stunning islands of Ile de Re, Ile d'Oleron and Ile d'Aix. In the area near Chez Rallet you can enjoy walking or cycling along La Boutonne or La Charente, spend the morning at the market of one of the local towns or simply relax by the pool at the house. Weekly bookings preferred - Friday changeover The space The front door leads directly into a large, light living/dining/kitchen area, with sofas and armchair, dining table and fitted kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and small fridge. There is an additional fridge/freezer in the garage, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer, although we do encourage guests to make the most of drying clothes in the garden whenever possible. At the back of the house there is a downstairs toilet and cosy lounge with study area suitable for home working. A separate staircase leads from each end of the house to the upstairs where there are three comfortable bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms and a further family shower room. Glass doors lead outside from the main room to the patio area with garden table and chairs. The beautiful pool also has a sunbathing area and loungers. There is an additional covered seating area with barbecue and wooden picnic bench and beyond the pool is a large lawned area suitable for garden games. In the house you will find a basket with tennis rackets, balls, beach bats and a set of boules. There is sufficient parking on the driveway for two or three cars. Guest access Please feel free to use all areas of the house and garden, with the exception of one upstairs room marked 'Private' and the stone barn containing the pool equipment. Other things to note The pool and areas of the garden closest to the house are fenced, however the lawned area is not and leads into neighbouring fields. Please can we kindly ask you not to use bronzing sun cream at any time when using the pool as this causes permanent staining of the pool liner. There is a television in the lounge which can be connected to a laptop for Netflix etc (but does not have English/French television programmes) or for playing DVD's. (selection of DVD's available in the house) We have wonderful neighbours and we ask you to respect their privacy and be mindful of any noise.
