The Castle House Kea
The Castle House Kea
Description
Ioulida or Chora is located 5 km from the port of the island, Korissia. It is built amphitheatrically on the sides of two hills overlooking the Aegean Sea. It is a protected settlement, as it is built on the ruins of the homonymous ancient city. Please note the property is located on a traditional small street of Chora and its not accessible by car only on foot. Also you need to climb 25-30 steps to reach the entrance. Other things to note In Ioulida is the most important attraction of the island, Leo, an archaic 6th century statue, 8 meters long glued to a rock. Don't forget to visit the Archaeological Museum of Kea with remarkable exhibits of the island. Other things to note Ioulida -the capital of Kea- is located 5 Km away from Korissia, the port of the island, and is built in the place where the ancient city of Iulis used to be more than two and a half thousand years ago. Full of tradinional and modern cafeterias and taverns as well as a museum and countless sightseeings, Ioulida is a traditional village, which is as picturesque as it gets, and admittedly one of the most beatiful villages of the Aegean islands. Its eblem is the famous ancient lion, a sclupture that decorates the village since ancient times. Access to Ioulida is pretty easy especially during the summer months, as there is a local bus that will take you to many places arround Kea, one of which is Ioulida. Registration Details 00000846074
