Whilst we are an entire home, my dad lives quietly in his own little apartment below, with a private drive and entrance; only the backyard is shared. The space This Airbnb project began when my incredibly talented dad, Geoff, at 80 years young, designed, installed, and built a fully self-contained and separate living space under the house all by himself. He truly is a clever cookie! With the main house left empty, we realized it was the perfect opportunity to share the peace and tranquility it offers with others. You may occasionally see Dad around, however he is rediscovering his love of this great land of ours by way of his newly purchased campervan, so sadly you may miss the faint whistle of a song that can at times be mistaken for the melodic offering of the many different varieties of native birds that frequent the property. He prefers that I be your main point of contact during your stay, but please don't hesitate to say hello if you see him pottering about. If you're in the mood for some fascinating stories, ask him about his time in Vietnam or what it was like growing up in rural England with 11 older siblings! Other things to note Our home is a heartfelt tribute to my mum — and my dad’s beautiful wife — Jenny, who embodied everything good and gentle during the time we were blessed to have her with us. Her warmth and kindness echo through this space, and we hope you feel that same comfort and love during your stay. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your favourite meals, just as Jenny loved to do for our family. The spacious living areas and decks are perfect for relaxing, while the bedrooms offer a peaceful retreat with soft linens and a cosy atmosphere to help you feel right at home. We take great pride in keeping the house clean, welcoming, and stocked with the essentials you may need.
