Galhareta, The Pink House

An 18th century manor house, Galhareta – La Maison Rose is a warm and authentic place to meet with family or friends in the heart of the inner Basque Country. Surrounded by a 4,000 m² wooded park with swimming pool, the house offers large volumes conducive to shared meals, moments of relaxation and life together. Shops within walking distance, nature everywhere, river, mountain, ocean and Spain nearby. The space Galhareta – La Maison Rose is an 18th century manor house, spacious, warm and deeply rooted in its territory. It is about 300 m² and can accommodate up to 15 guests, in a spirit of sharing, conviviality and respect for the place. Surrounded by a 4,000 m² wooded park and equipped with a swimming pool, the house offers a peaceful setting, open to nature and the first reliefs of the Pyrenees. This is an old, living house, gradually restored over the years. It does not have the finishes of a standardized modern villa, but offers real comfort, large volumes and a sincere atmosphere, ideal for group stays. Living spaces The ground floor consists of a cozy living room (TV, DVD, games, reading area), a dining room equipped with a large family table, and a fully equipped kitchen, designed for cooking together and easily preparing cozy meals for large groups. From the living room, direct access leads to a covered outdoor terrace, also equipped with a large family table, facing the pool, the real heart of life on sunny days. A very functional back kitchen/laundry room facilitates the organization of stays (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, additional refrigerators and freezers, extra shower). Rooms Upstairs, the house has 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms renovated in 2025, allowing everyone to find their place while maintaining the spirit of a shared house. ⚠️ Linens (sheets, towels) are not provided. Duvets and pillows are available. The exteriors The park is a real space of freedom: rest, games, reading, contemplation. The swimming pool, terrace, barbecue and shaded areas invite you to live outside from morning to evening. A volleyball and badminton court complete the outdoor facilities. Environment & services The Pink House enjoys a particularly pleasant location, in the heart of the village, allowing you to do everything on foot while remaining surrounded by nature. A few steps from the house (about 50 meters) are a convenience store, bakery, pharmacy and a medical house with a doctor, physiotherapist, osteopath and nurse, offering reassuring comfort, especially for family stays. Less than 200 meters away, village life continues with a butcher shop, a bar/brasserie, a gourmet restaurant and the village square, a place for meetings and local entertainment. All around, nature is immediately accessible: local producers, hikes, mountain biking and country paths invite you to discover the inner Basque Country. About twenty minutes away, the rivers offer beautiful opportunities for swimming in the middle of nature, while in less than an hour, you can also reach the beaches of the Basque and Landes coast as well as Spain, to vary the pleasures during the stay. Spirit of the place The Pink House is ideal for families, groups of friends and intergenerational stays looking for an authentic and peaceful place. Laughter and life have their place there, while respecting the neighborhood and the tranquility of the village. This place is not suitable for parties or noisy events. Guest access The entire property and the entire house are accessible to guests outside the barn and attic. Other things to note Music and noise in this type of accommodation that can accommodate so many people is perfectly understandable within the limits of respect for the neighborhood that particularly appreciates, like you, their tranquility. Also, we reserve the right to immediately terminate the stay of any guest who does not comply with this basic rule of good manners. We will be particularly uncompromising in this regard because the well-being of our neighbors and friends comes well before our rental business. That said, we have no doubt that the people who will rent the Maison Rose share our values and will then easily understand this firm and uncompromising stance.
