The space Elysian By Di Riva is both a place and a concept. It was born out of the love and respect for nature, the pursuit of wellness, and a deep appreciation for Jamaican and African history and culture. Elysian provides visitors with an opportunity to experience the full beauty, inspiration, and healing energy of nature. The property is designed for the travelers and vacationers who are looking for more out of their travels, regardless of whether they are from overseas or other parts of the island. Elysian is carefully designed to make it easy for visitors to rest, relax, connect, and celebrate. Our Inspiration. The owners are world travelers, lovers of nature, hikers, wellness buffs, and yoga practitioners. They envisioned Elysian as a place that reflects the values, lessons, and inspirations from these sources. The riverfront property provides a panoramic view of the river, and majestic bamboo trees. The large Guango trees that stand majestically on the perimeter of the property, are reminiscent of acacia trees that are ubiquitous across much of the African continent. There are many mature fruit trees, a curated garden stocked with many medicinal plants, and is home to some of Jamaica’s most notorious flowers, including birds of paradise, wild ginger, and bougainvilleas. While the property is only 20 minutes out of Montego Bay, the setting feels as if it is deeper in nature. The aim is to provide each visitor to Elysian a deeper connection to Jamaican history, culture and nature. Elysian has six bedrooms: Guango - Primary /bridal suite - king-size bed Coconut - 2 double beds Almond - 2 double beds Mulberry - 1 queen bed Avocado - 2 double beds Cinnamon - 1 queen bed The Avocado and Cinnamon rooms constitute a small apartment on the west side of the house called Zanzibar. Zanzibar includes a furnished kitchenette, including refrigerator, stove and microwave. Perfect for a family and longer term stays. The rest of the property includes: Breadfruit - large living room w/ 25-foot vaulted ceiling Hummingbird - large verandah overlooking the Great River Jerk Shack - outdoor grill station with both charcoal and gas grills John Crow Nest - a tree house. Location: Elysian is located 20-30 minutes from the Montego Bay Airport. It is 20 minutes from the Fairview Shopping center that has supermarkets, restaurants and business services. Guest access Questions guests may have: 1. Can I use the kitchen? The Kitchen located in the main house is not available to use by guests. The kitchenette at the apartment Zanzibar is set up to be used by guests. The main house has continental breakfast included in the rate. Additional meals can be prepared by the cook at a daily cost of JA$5000.00 + cost of groceries. Each room is equipped with its own minibar fridge. 2. Is breakfast and other meals included? At the main house (3 Bed) or when booking the entire property (5 Bed) continental breakfast is available daily and included in the rate. The cook is available to prepare additional meals at a daily cost of JA$5000.00 + cost of groceries. Packages for pre-stocking groceries are available at an extra cost. 3. Is the house shared? Yes, some parts of the house are shared with other guests pending on how many rooms you are booking. That includes the porch and the grounds. If the entire house is booked, then there will be no additional guests an common areas are exclusive. 4. Where can I get food? There will be a cook on property at all times to prepare meals. Continental breakfast is included in the stay. At a cost of JA$5000 per day paid directly to the cook + cost for meals additional meals can be prepared. Note that there has to suitable notice and communication with the cook. The kitchen is not available for guests to prepare their own meals. There are cook-shops within walking distance, supermarket and restaurants are in Fairview which is a 20mins drive from property. 5. Where can I get my laundry done? There is a housekeeper on property who is in charge of laundry; laundry is included in original cost. Any special garment treatment has to be communicated with housekeeper in advance. 6. Transportation? Airport pickup/drop-off can be arranged through the host; to/from airport 60US$ one way 1-4 persons- For each additional person there will be a fee of 5US$. For other transportation needs there will be a list of drivers provided. Other things to note Elysian by di Riva: -The property is close to Lethe, Lethe River Rafting and to the Bird Sanctuary; Rocklands Bird Sanctuary. -The property is fully solar. -The main porch is common/shared space.
