Cozy Rustic Modern Cabin, 39 acres, Narrowsburg

Welcome to The Spring House! The cabin has been completely renovated to embody what we call “Rustic Modern” and includes a new kitchen and bathrooms, open floor plan and plenty of windows to let nature in. We are about 2 hours from NYC and only 5 minutes outside of the lovely town of Narrowsburg. Enjoy award- winning restaurants, boutique shops, exploring the area, or doing nothing at all. The space It was our family’s dream to have a place in nature to enjoy and share with our family and friends – we hope you will enjoy it too! You can relax inside or venture out to enjoy one of our 2 patio/decks, roast marshmallows at the firepit by the pond or explore our trail system on 39 acres. A short walk down the hill will bring you to our private access to the Delaware River. There are many fantastic local restaurants, galleries and a curated book shop in town, and other towns to explore including Callicoon, Bethel (Home of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts- the original site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival), Barryville and Monticello. As spring approaches, everything will be in bloom, and in the summer, there is hiking, water fun, tubing, kayaking! THE SPACE Our cabin is located on Route 97, one of the most scenic drives in NY, that meanders along the Delaware River. You turn off the road and are welcomed by an old rock wall lining the driveway under a canopy of old growth trees and two gentle streams on either side. The air here is different: clean, clear, the sky open, the smell of pine in the air, the sounds of nature includes birds, crickets and frogs. Our 39 acres are heavily forested and framed by 2 streams that run down the sides of the property. HOME LAYOUT The home has a comfortable open layout, with a well stocked kitchen that includes all new appliances, retro toaster oven and tea pot, coffee maker or French Press . . . can you tell we like coffee?? Also provided: spices, olive oil, condiments. The kitchen overlooks the dining room and living room, so you can cook, snack at the counter, play board games or read in one of the corner window nooks, all in one space. This room boasts a 55" Smart TV, an assortment of board games, the occasional puzzle and a pull out queen couch that sleeps 1-2 adults or 2 kids. The primary bedroom is a cozy sanctuary featuring a king size bed with deep mattress topper, electric fireplace which can be used for ambience or warmth, and a sitting area with a kilim covered ottoman, where you can put your feet up and read or daydream. Adjoining the master bedroom is a private deck where you can start your day with a warm drink and a book, or end the day with a cold cocktail. The charming guest room has a full sized bed, with dresser and roomy closet, and features camping/cabin themed sheets and retro artwork. There are two renovated spa-like bathrooms, one with a clawfoot soaking tub and the other with a large walk-in shower. Additionally, in this bathroom there is a bluetooth Chroma Comfort Sensonic Speaker/exhaust fan to play tunes while you shower. You can also check out our digital guidebook here on the AirBnB site. Guest access Guests have access to almost the entire space from the moment one enters the driveway. There are sheds behind the house that are locked and off limits. Additionally, there are cabinets in the great room under the windows that are locked. Thanks! Other things to note OTHER THINGS TO NOTE This haven is perfect for small families, couples, solo adventurers, artists or wildlife lovers, and sleeps up to 5. Sadly, we do not allow animals. We have installed a new mini-split heating and cooling system in the house. There is a large unit in the great room and 2 smaller units in the bedrooms. Even so, it is a cabin and in winter and very cold weather, it can feel drafty. There are extra blankets for the beds, soft thick throws for the sofa and warm slippers to wear while you are here. Septic: We are on a septic system here - please nothing but toilet paper down the toilet. There are trash cans in each bathroom for anything else. Ironing Board and iron can be found in the guest bedroom closet. FALL & WINTER NOTE: We are located in upstate NY; as such we have a lot of snow, ice and wind in the winter months. This can lead to power outages and challenging conditions. We have a maintenance person who plows and sands after a snowfall, and we leave a shovel and salt or sand by the front door; but please be aware that due to harsh winter weather, the grounds can be icy and dangerous. In the event of a power outage, we are alerted by the local power company and will be in communication with you immediately. And while we do offer complimentary high-speed internet, we are not responsible for internet outages. Please be careful and let us know of any unsafe conditions.
