Come and cosy up in our cute Farmhouse Cottage. We are located in the beautiful Noosa Hinterland town of Cooran. Spend the night stargazing or warming up around the fire and wake up looking over the rolling green hills. We have cows, chickens and ducks on our property. We also have a large dam with kayaks that you are welcome to take out for a paddle. There are native birds, turtles, fish and eels in the dam. We are located very close to the Noosa Trail network and many other points of interest. The space Welcome to our little slice of paradise here at Hazelnut Homestead! We are so excited to have you staying in our cozy farmhouse-inspired tiny home, tucked away in the beautiful Noosa Hinterland. We hope you enjoy the peacefulness, fresh air, and the unique experiences our hobby farm and the surrounding area have to offer. Please make yourself at home! Here's a guide to help you settle in and make the most of your stay. About the Farm You are staying on a working hobby farm! Depending on the season, you may see: • Friendly chickens and Ducks roaming the gardens • Cows grazing by the dam • Seasonal veggie patches and herb gardens • Native birdlife and visits from local wildlife • Feel free to say hello to the animals (we'll let you know which ones are happy for a pat!) and wander around the farm. The cottage is in a private fenced off block where you have your own garden area overlooking the beautiful rolling hills of the hinterland. Things to Do On the Property • Farm Walks: Stroll through our property and enjoy the fresh country air. • Sunset Spotting: The garden of the cottage is a perfect place to watch the sun dip behind the hills. • Campfire: Weather permitting, you can light a fire in the provided fireplace. There are marshmallows in the cottage for you to enjoy. The firewood is located near the steps to the cottage and kindling is in the firepit or can be gathered around the property. • Herb Garden Harvest: Pick some fresh herbs for your cooking (feel free to ask which are ready!). • Orchard : Feel free to collect some fruit from the orchard. . Bird watching : Parrots of different varieties, cockatoos black and white and you may even spot a wompoo pigeon or fruit dove. By the dam you will see a variety of water fowl and magpie geese nesting in the right seasons. • Kayaks: Are available down at the dam for you to use during your stay. Local Attractions & Activities Cooran and Surrounds • Cooran Tablelands Lookout — Stunning views across the hinterland to the coast. • Noosa Trails Network — Ideal for hiking, biking, and horse riding. • Mothar Mountain Rockpools – A beautiful spot for a picnic and swim. Nearby Towns • Pomona (10 min drive) — Quaint town with cafes, galleries, and the historic Majestic Theatre. • Kin Kin (15 min drive) — Known for its artisan food and markets. • Noosa Heads (35 min drive) — World-famous beaches, shopping at Hastings Street, and the Noosa National Park coastal walk. Other Highlights • Mount Cooroora (Pomona) — Climb the iconic mountain if you're feeling adventurous! • Pomona Markets (Sat) – Local fruit and veg, food trucks, live music. • Eumundi Markets (Wed & Sat) — One of Australia’s largest and best artisan markets. Places to Eat In Cooran: • Cooran General Store & Café — Great coffee and homemade treats, small selection of groceries. • Hinterland Restaurant (Closed Mon/Tues) — A cozy spot for dinner with fresh, locally sourced meals. • Noosa Hinterland Brewing Co (Open Thurs-Sun) – Microbrewery in a heritage listed building. Light meals and share plates. Live music and trivia nights. • Dingo Creek Vineyard (Open Fri – Sun) – Winery, vineyard, cocktails, meals, picnic baskets available. Beautiful views. In Pomona: • Pomona Distilling Co. — Fantastic gin, tapas, meals and live music in a beautiful garden setting. • Pomona Village Kitchen – Yummy breakfast and coffee. In Kin Kin: • Kin Kin Hotel — A local favorite for brunch and lunch, featuring regional produce. Fresh pastries on weekend. They are really good! Getting Around • Car: is highly recommended as public transport is very limited in the hinterland. • Bus: Route 632 travels from Cooran to Noosa Heads. Limited times. • Train: Cooran Train Station is a 2-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk). It connects to Gympie and Brisbane via the Queensland Rail City train network. • Taxis/Ubers: Available but can be limited — best to pre-book if possible. • Bike Hire: Bikes can be hired in Noosa and brought here for exploring the trails. Guest access The cottage and surrounding garden is your own private oasis during your stay. You are separated from the main house via a privacy fence. Our house is very soundproof so you won't hear us and we won't hear you. You may see us on your travels around the rest of the property.
