House on the Edge of the Universe

This is an isolated place, with neighbors so scarce that you can count them on one hand. The nearest general store is 4 kilometers away but twice a week the travelling shop arrives. There is no public transportation here. You can only get here by car. The house is situated some 220km from Minsk and about 35km from Braslav. The space With an ancient wood-fueled sauna standing on the very shore of the lake, you can swim in the fresh water right after a good steam. Natural birch bath brooms will make it all an unforgettable experience. The House at the End of the Universe is built from natural, ecologic materials using an old-school technology. It is a real log house with moss insulation and all the inner walls are finished with clay stucco. Guest access The wide porch and some cozy blankets will make even a rainy day warm and homely. There is also a fireplace, a BBQ with grill and skits, firewood, a hammock, a seesaw and even rocking chair with a war checkered blanked – all for you and your comfort while you stay. There is also a large outdoor area around the house where you can set up a camp with tents if you like. There are 2 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Each bedroom can sleep two and a living room with a comfy sofa, nice armchairs and a big table will let you all sit around and spend time together. There is an oven to keep the temperature warm and welcoming and the cracking of the wood burning creates a cozy atmosphere all around you. There is a hotplate, microwave, fridge and freezer, electric kettle, sandwich-maker, a rice-cooker with a steam function, a hot-watered washing stand and all the necessary tableware. There is no TV in this house! But you can use internet if you like. The cell phone connection is so-so – don’t forget you are at the End of the Universe. The toilet-house is outdoors. There is also a summer shower with hot water available. Other things to note There is a state tax for fishing in the lake. The house has some rules: 1. Do not run around naked 2. Do not swim while drunk 3. Never ever push the little white button inside the fridge And most importantly – “DON’T PANIC” and “HAVE FUN” Additional services for a fee: • Transfer from Braslav; • Babysitter; • Gel nail work.
