The Coop

The Coop - is a small, open planned, upstairs cart lodge space. It is located at the back of our garden, down a dirt driveway and accessed via a steep wooden staircase (as shown in photos). The Coop is a delightful place to stay, beautifully renovated and tastefully furnished, with an open plan living/bedroom/kitchenette area and a separate bathroom. Wonderful views over surrounding countryside and an ideal place for couples looking for a quiet, relaxing escape. The space The Coop is a stylish, light and relaxing cart lodge space at the back of our garden. The Coop is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside in Friston and is ideally located for exploring the coastline of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness (only a 10minute drive away). There are several lovely walks from the property, across the nearby fields to Snape, The Maltings and into Friston village. The Coop is well equipped with a bathroom containing a small shower and towels. The Coop also boasts an open planned bedroom/kitchenette area. The compact kitchenette has a microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetière, cutlery, crockery, wine glasses and mugs. Things to note about The Coop: The Coop is accessed via a steep wooden staircase (as shown in the photos). Please do ensure you take care when using the stairs as they are steep. At The Coop there is room for one vehicle to be parked on our driveway during your stay. Please do only bring one vehicle as this then enables us the room to manoeuvre our own vehicles too. We have a small flock of three pekin bantam chickens in our garden. They are primarily kept for their eggs and help with gardening. You might hear them clucking in the mornings (especially when they have laid an egg), but they are generally quiet otherwise. You are very welcome to observe them, but please do not feed them. We take good care of our chickens, and they are a friendly part of our property. Please be aware that this property is on a septic tank sewage and water system. To ensure proper functioning, please only flush toilet paper and bodily waste. No other items should be flushed down the toilet. A small welcome package is provided for you to enjoy during your stay. This contains bread, butter, milk, juice, granola, biscuits, coffee, tea and sugar. Finding us: Accessing The Coop from the direction of Friston Village. We are located about 400 yards out of the main village of Friston down a slight hill on the left hand side. You will see two attached brick houses, ours is 59 Whin Cottages. The Coop is easily noticeable at the back of our garden (cart lodge building). If you reach the junction at the end of Aldeburgh Road you have gone too far. Accessing The Coop from the main A1094 road from the direction of Snape. Take a sharp left turn at the bottom of the hill and double back on yourself up the road towards Friston village. We are located about 200 yards up from here on the right hand side. Two brick cottages attached, ours is 59 Whin Cottages. You will see The Coop located at the back of our garden, at the end of the dirt driveway. Please drive up the dirt track/driveway and park in the space provided at the back of the garden (in front of the ‘Parking’ sign). If you park in front of this sign, it will give you plenty of space to manoeuvre your car in and out and leave us space to access our own vehicles too. There is no access to the garage space underneath The Coop, this is solely for our use only. Please also note that there is only room for one vehicle to be parked here during your stay. Please do not park in the garage. Guest access Self check-in: The key safe is located at the bottom of staircase, on the left hand side of the building, next to the olive tree. Access code provided upon booking. There is no access/use of the garden surrounding The Coop or the garage space underneath The Coop. Garden and garage: There is no access to the surrounding garden areas or the garage space underneath The Coop, this is solely for our use only. Please do not park your vehicle in the garage. There is only room for one vehicle to be parked at The Coop. This enables us to access our own vehicles and manoeuvre them in the driveway too.
