Description

Playa Gigante is a hidden gem. Popoyo is more popular because it's marketed. Playa Gigante is a fishing village with no pretensions of becoming a surfer/tourist mecca. I first sailed into the bay called Pie de Gigante in 1976. I'd spent most of my life looking for cool places, and this is where I stopped looking and started building. Gigante is off the beaten path and still fresh and natural. The space This is was own home. Built like a boat with cedar interior. Pretty darn nice if I say so myself, Steps from the beach amongst a cool little community of trawlers. Lots of nice comfortable places on the property to chill or work. There are three repeaters for the broadband fiberoptic internet. There is a small but well equipped store on the property for food and beverages. Great swimming beach in front and surfing is just a five min walk away. Guest access You will notice my staff are all exceptionally helpful and the place is spotless. Nicas are hard workers and they are very friendly and helpful. The real beauty of Nicaragua is her people. You have use a fully stocked kitchen. There is a grocery store located on the property with the best prices in town for any of your cooking needs during your stay. There is a nice inside shower. And a nice outside one to use after beach time. We can arrange to meet you in Rivas or the airport to make getting here less of a hassle. There are several restaurants and there are some bars that stay open late and get wild and crazy sometimes. There are several places to rent surfboards. I rent motos for $20 The easiest way to get here is via taxi from Rivas. $20 dollars. Ask for or Dale Dagger's Cool Places.Make sure you turn RIGHT on the only street in town. I'm behind a green gate and are right on the beach. I'm pretty well know in town so you should have no trouble. We can also meet your flight at the airport. laid back and be comfortable vibe pretty much sums up what my places are all about. And great staff who keep the place spotless. We have several separate houses that all share the same amenities like clean well equipped kitchen, well maintained bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers to get the sand off. Walk five min and your on the most beautiful surfing beach in the Americas. I've spent twenty plus years finding surfing beaches in the Americas and this is where I stopped looking and started building. There are several chill spots on the property. Comfy rocking chairs, hammocks and tables to work on. Cool, shady and airy. Interaction with guests Right now I have a 100% Nicaraguan crew. That means you get a full Nica experience. We can help you rent surfboards, get surf lessons, Massage and spa treatment at Nica prices or rent you a moto scooter. We are also good friends and neighbors with the local Spanish School. Other things to note Welcome to Dale’s Cool Places, How to find it on your own:There is a Bus that leaves the Rivas Mercado at 1:30 PM and arrives in front of my places to stay at 3:30. You can also catch a cab from Rivas for about 500 cordobas. Be sure to have your driver turn right on the only street in town. I am 300 meter down the road right on the beach behind green gates. Keep your eyes open for a sign because sometimes the gates are open . The easiest way to get here is to have a driver meet your flight. If is during working hours, he will take you also to a large store for shopping and to use an ATM. This costs $85 and is easy. There is a well equipped communal kitchen to share so you can cook your own breakfast, etc. Send us the dates and time as you get closer to your arrival dates if you wish to have us arrange this service. Other things to note Nicaraguan's are the major natural resource of this overlooked country. You'll find them warm and welcoming. The water is amazing and the weather very accommodating for almost any activity you could want to do How to act: Remember this is a very small community and you are a part of it. Please be civil and neighborly. The people who got here before you can help tune you in. Other guests can tell you the places they like to eat, drink and get supplies. Ask other guests what shelf in the frig you can use as well as where is best to store other food items. My staff would love to help you also, so practice a few key words first using the translator on your device and give it a go.
