Description

Escape to the heart of the Scenic Rim at our charming farm stay nestled beneath Minto Crag in the Coochin Coochin Valley. Just a 15-minute drive from Boonah township, with its many coffee shops, boutiques, & pubs. Visit Moogerah, Maroon or Wyaralong Dams, offering incredible views with opportunities for boating, fishing, & picnicking. The Scenic Rim is home to several breathtaking waterfalls, perfect for a refreshing hike or a relaxing day out. Your perfect Scenic Rim escape awaits! The space "The Shed" is located on our family farm within 5.6 acres bordered by Sandy Creek. Enjoy a peaceful retreat with two spacious bedrooms - main with queen bed, second with option of two king single beds or one super size bed, a full bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen for your convenience. You will enjoy our rustic farm-style charm inspired by nature and historical farm house influences but not leaving out the modern comforts. The space offers air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and wood burner to ensure you are always comfortable during your stay. Two generous bedrooms both with quality linen and towels offer comfort and flexibility. The first a queen room full of rustic charm. The second room can be set up to accommodate 2 children or a couple with either 2 king single beds or one large super sized bed. Both rooms have ceiling fans and wardrobes and are furnished to ensure a great nights sleep. Unwind in the great outdoors with our inviting outdoor facilities, ideal for soaking in the fresh country air and stunning landscapes. With onsite parking available, exploring the nearby Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm and Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard (both just 12 minutes away) is a breeze, or you can stay in and use the onsite BBQ and fire pit to enjoy a bottle of wine and watch the sun go down in one of the many alfresco dining options. The rustic farm house charm continues throughout and locally made bespoke furnishings provide comfortable yet unique touches. Our bathroom vanity was crafted locally and we support permaculture principles by harvesting rain water and using a composting toilet. There is even a "loo with a view" for the more adventurous of heart, where you can look out over a mountain range while sitting on an authentic outdoor dunny. The newly renovated kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to prepare your gourmet feast from produce you have sourced from many of the local farms. With a full size electric oven and stove top, microwave, fridge and freezer you can whip up a feast for the family in no time or dine at one of the many cafes and restaurants in Boonah, Rathdowney or Kalbar. With lovely views from most windows, you can enjoy the warmth beside the indoor wood burner or toast marshmellows on the fire pit in the great outdoors. Some firewood is supplied for your stay. There is NBN Wi-Fi, a smart TV for you to watch your own Netflix account, & a Lavazza coffee machine. The country night sky offers spectacular star gazing with the in house telescope. Guest access "The Shed" and its yard are all yours, and the space around it is shared by our family as we live in the main house nearby. All of the other sheds are off limits to guests but guests are welcome to wander the gardens and enjoy a morning coffee watching the sheep or chickens and ducks do their thing. Sometimes farm life can be very quiet but at other times, animals and machinery can make some noise. Other things to note Minto View Farm is surrounded by Sandy Creek, so don’t be surprised if local wildlife visit. As we are a working farm with animals of our own we are unable to accommodate your furry friends at this time. As we harvest our water from the sky we would appreciate guests to be water wise during their stay. We also harvest our electricity from the sun and would appreciate if guests would be mindful of their energy consumption during their stay. The shed uses a composting toilet system & given it is an ecosystem of its own may have natural organic smells at times when it is used correctly. We provide amenities such as WiFi and other extras as a complimentary convenience for our guests. While we do our best to ensure they are in working order, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service due to factors beyond our control (e.g., service provider issues, weather conditions, etc.). Our shed is exactly that. It does not have lined walls & ceilings & the bedrooms are connected with one another via a breezeway, therefore noisy sleepers within your party may be heard by other guests during your stay.
