Our unique retreat is nestled in woodland at the end of a quiet lane on the foothills of majestic Dartmoor. With the moors on your doorstep for endless exploration and Haytor Rock offering breath-taking views at the summit, it’s the perfect location to reconnect with nature and feel refreshed by the positive energy and spirit that flows here in abundance. The space At the end of a long quiet lane in an elevated position offering unparalleled views of Devon stretching right down to the sea , is our enchanting lodge set in beautiful woodland. Enter into the bright and comfortable open plan living and dining space with a large and cosy sofa, rocking chair and separate dining table and a new wood burner for the ultimate cosy feel. The kitchen has all the essential conveniences with a sink made from ancient granite and the fridge door is a decorative tile from the Empire State Building! For moments of rest, retreat to the blissful bedrooms, tucked behind beautiful original Indian doors. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a roll top free-standing bath. The light and airy second bedroom has it’s own a en-suite shower room and looks out onto the charming, private garden, The garden is a peaceful paradise from which you can enjoy Dartmoor's captivating beauty. Immerse yourself in country living, breathe in the clean air and enjoy your tranquil surroundings. With direct access to the open moorland, and a selection of maps provided, you can enjoy endless exploration from your door! One small/medium well-behaved dog is very welcome. A dog bed, bowls, towels (and treats!) are provided. Please note, there is a small additional fee for your pet so please include them on the booking. There is ample private parking, good Wifi and a Smart TV. Local area For award winning fine dining, head to The Rock Inn – a five-minute stroll through the woods or venture to Ullacombe Farm to experience their delightful café and farm shop, offering a host of locally sourced products and delicious breakfasts. It’s a 20-minute walk to the centre of Ilsington village where you will find and The Carpenter's Arms pub, serving hearty home cooked food and local tipples. There is also a well-stocked shop run buy the local community and the Ilslington Country House Hotel with a host of relaxing and tranquil spa packages. Slightly further afield but worth the trip... Castle Drogo in the Teign Gorge, with a rich history and dramatic architecture. For retail therapy days, Exeter is only half an hour away, with a host of high street shops and a cathedral with a fascinating history. The historical town of Ashburton is a short distance by car too, known for its abundance of antiques shops, where you can find hidden, unique treasures to take home. The quirky town of Totnes is also well worth a visit, with a host of independent boutiques and fantastic eateries. A forty-minute drive will find you at the sandy beaches of the South Hams, including Blackpool Sands and Bigbury on Sea. Guest access The lodge is entirely yours with a private garden and parking. Details of the key access will be given prior to arrival. Other things to note We welcome pets but please note that the garden is not secure. The lodge is situated at the end of a lane with woodlands beyond and direct access to the moors.
