The space Our home is located in a quiet residential area close to the centre of Västerås and beautiful Lake Mälaren. As this is our main residence, we kindly ask guests to treat our home and belongings with care and respect. We hope you will enjoy the house as much as we do and feel at home during your stay. The lake, just a short distance away, offers plenty of activities throughout the year. In summer, you can enjoy swimming, canoeing, walking, cycling, and birdwatching. In winter, when conditions allow, the frozen lake is perfect for ice skating. Nature is never far away. Forests nearby are ideal for walks, jogging, berry and mushroom picking, and you may even spot deer or the famous Swedish moose. Golf lovers will find a selection of no less than 8 golf courses within a 15-20-minute drive away, most of them offering very reasonable green fees. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the forest just a few kilometers away, offering opportunities for wild blueberries, loganberries, and mushroom picking. Keep an eye out for the majestic Swedish moose or wild deer, adding an element of wonder to your countryside experience. In the town centre (3 km away, local bus available), there are plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, a medieval cathedral and historical district, and Stockholm is only 50-min away by train. Within walking distance of the house, you will find a grocery store and a couple of restaurants. Cycling is one of the best ways to get around Västerås thanks to its extensive and safe network of cycle paths. If available, we are happy to lend our bicycles during your stay.
