Welcome to Sunny Guest House & Café, located in the heart of Bhaktapur city. Just a 2 min walk from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, our bed & breakfast is the perfect homebase to explore the city’s rich culture and timeless architecture. Guests can enjoy comfortable standard rooms or spacious family rooms, each designed for a restful stay. Relax on our rooftop sun terrace with a close-up view of the famous Nyatapola temple and sweeping mountain views. The space Our guesthouse has 5-stories with a rooftop overlooking the historic Taumadhi Square home of Nyatapola temple. We offer two room types at our guesthouse. Please also join us for a home-made hot breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns, tea & coffee etc.) on the rooftop for 300 NPR/person. We are available 24-hrs a day for any needs that may arise. Nyatapola Temple & Taumadhi Square – Marvel at Nepal’s tallest pagoda and the bustling square. Pottery Square – Watch traditional potters at work or try making your own clay piece. Dattatreya Square – Stroll through the oldest square in Bhaktapur, home to the Dattatreya Temple and intricate woodcarvings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local Foods to try! Juju Dhau (King Curd) – Famous sweet, creamy yogurt served in clay pots; a specialty only Bhaktapur is known for. Newari Khaja Set – A traditional platter featuring beaten rice (chiura), barbecued buffalo meat (sukuti), fried soybeans (bhatmas), spicy potatoes, pickles, and more. Bara (Lentil Pancakes) – Savory, golden lentil patties often topped with egg or minced meat. Yomari – A steamed dumpling made from rice flour filled with jaggery and sesame; usually enjoyed during festivals but available in local shops. Samay Baji – A festive Newari dish with chiura, marinated meat, fried fish, black soybeans, ginger, and local spices. Sel Roti – Sweet, ring-shaped rice bread, crisp outside and soft inside, often eaten with tea. Chatamari – Known as “Nepali pizza,” a rice-flour crepe topped with minced meat, egg, or vegetables.
