The Old Red Cottage near the Ocean

This Mendocino cottage is cozy, warm, and decorated with genuine antiques from our area. It's made of local redwood and dates to the 1930's, when Mendocino was a logging town and the cars had rumble seats. It's an easy drive to the restaurants, galleries, and shopping of Mendocino Village, and you can walk down our path to Point Cabrillo Lighthouse and Frolic Cove beach without even crossing a road. Hike, barbecue, even surf or kayak down in Caspar! The space The cabin, one of several on the property, dates back to a time when Point Cabrillo Drive was the old Highway One. Furnished with antiques and original artwork, the cabin features a comfortable queen bed, a fully equipped small kitchen, a dining area, a small desk for remote work, and an original redwood bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub. Painted in dark hues, the space offers a retreat from the city to read, write, and disconnect in the quiet of nature. Location: • The property is surrounded by 300-acre Point Cabrillo Lighthouse State Park. It's an easy walk to the headlands without crossing any roads. • Five minute drive to Caspar Headlands State Beach for surfing, kayaking, swimming and barbecuing. Get your supplies at the mom-and-pop grocery at the beach. • Five minute drive to Russian Gulch State Park (ask us about the incredible waterfall hike!) • Seven minute drive to Mendocino Village, with its world-class restaurants, boutiques, and galleries. • Across the street from a beautiful flower farm with seasonal bouquets for sale, Earthspoke Farms. Guest access Make sure to download access information before you get here! Our cell signal is spotty, so you may not be able to look up the lockbox code while you're on the property. Best to write it on a piece of paper like back in the day! Other things to note Currently no WiFi is available, though internet is available at multiple cafes in the town of Mendocino, about 5 minutes from the property by car.
