Kittiwake is the perfect off-grid camping hut to unwind from the world, nestled within the Calgary Art in Nature Sculpture Walk with stunning views of Calgary Bay. Whilst there is no electricity in the hut, it's the perfect location to switch off from technology and stoke up the fire; you'll be able to relax beneath the sounds of the trees, birds, and nature around you. The space Kittiwake is an off-grid wooden hut located in the Calgary Art in Nature Sculpture Walk- please note that the hut doesn't have electricity, wifi or plumbing, and signal is very limited/no network at times, so please be prepared. The sculpture walk is open to the public; therefore, please expect people in the area. Kittiwake has a double bed, dining table, sofa, and a small area to prep and cook food. The kitchen area has the following: frying pan, saucepans, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, washing up liquid, sponge, tea towel, 25L drinking water, double hob camping gas stove, cool box with freezer packs, solar light, and chopping board. The dining area/bedroom has the following: a dining table for 2 with cutlery in the drawer, a bookcase with board games and books, tea light holders, a wood stove with one night's wood provided (wood can be purchased separately for an additional fee), a small cupboard to store luggage, and a chest of drawers with a drawer of spare supplies. There is also an outside decking area where you can enjoy the view of Calgary Bay during the summer nights or use the fire pit to the left of the Kittiwake entrance. An eco-toilet is attached to Kittiwake, located a few steps below, and the hatch to empty this is only a few metres away. However, there is a bathroom located at the car park with running water, a shower, a sink and a toilet. The shower and toilet facility also has an outside basin for washing dishes and refilling your 25L water container. Guest access Guests have access to the Kittiwake Camping Hut, the Art in Nature Sculpture walk, and the Kittiwake Bathroom, located by the car park. Other things to note Please note that Kittiwake is a wooden camping hut in the woods; on very wet and windy days, it is prone to leaking. There is no WiFi and very limited phone signal available at Kittiwake. The sculpture walk is open to the public; therefore, please expect people to be around the area. Sorry, no children under 10 years old.
