A charming historical town, Okehampton offers the perfect base to explore the many sights and attractions within Dartmoor National Park and beyond. Additionally, some of the South West's finest beaches are less than an hour's drive, along with the vibrant cities of Exeter and Plymouth. We have many books and maps in our reading area to help you decide where the day will take you. The space BEDROOM - Spacious first floor bedroom with a double bed with a comfortable medium firm combination mattress, duvet, extra blanket and 4 pillows. Towels provided. Comfortable easy chair. Electric operated blackout blind. Battery powered bedside reading lights with remote controls. Clothes hooks on wall with hangers for a small number of items. Ample drawer space with two generous under-bed drawers, bedside cabinets and a small chest. Full length mirror. Hairdryer. Fan. Room cleaning and linen change available for stays longer than 4 nights. Privacy film on windows. BATHROOM - First floor private bathroom accessed via hallway. Bath with over bath shower. Shaving sockets. Large mirror. SHARED LOUNGE - Spacious modern lounge with large corner sofa and cuddle chair, comfortable cushions and blankets. 55 inch smart TV with sky. PS4 games console. Maps and books on the local area. A very small (growing) library of fiction and non-fiction books. A selection of board games and an electronic games table. Alexa dot speaker. Shutters and privacy film on window. This space is shared with the adults of the house, however you will have this area to yourself most of the time. SHARED KITCHEN / DINER - Large well equipped kitchen. Use of oven, air fryer, slow cooker and toaster. Cupboard, fridge and freezer space available on request. Virgin pure water machine with filtered chilled and hot water. Blender, kitchen aid and a good range of cook wear, utensils, cutlery, glass wear and crockery. Dishwasher with dish washer tablets provided - non stick cookware to be hand washed please. Extendable dining table and chairs. Alexa show speaker. First aid kit and small fire extinguisher kept under sink. Please note that the TV and comfy chair at the end of the kitchen are private and not to be used for guests - you will find a friendly 8 year old occupies this space out of school hours! BREAKFAST - A luxury continental breakfast is available on request for additional £9 per person per night. Includes freshly baked pastries, a selection of cereals, toast and preserves, yoghurt and fruit, juice and hot drinks. Breakfast booking to be organised with the host prior to arrival. SHARED UTILITY ROOM - This area is not always pristine - exploring Dartmoor can be a muddy business! Feel free to throw muddy boots, and wet coats in here and use the sink for whatever you need. The microwave is also located here. Large capacity washer/dryer. Washing detergent provided. Recycling bins are also located in this area. GARDEN - We have a moderate sized grassed garden that as yet hasn't been landscaped. Picnic bench. You are welcome to use the garden but be aware that we have 4 free range guinea pigs so please do not leave the side gate open. ELECTRIC CAR CHARGER - 7 kw Pod Point available on request at an additional charge. HEATING - During the colder months the house is set at 20 degrees during the daytime and 18 degrees at night. If you find the house temperature is not comfortable please let us know and we will adjust it for you within reason. Please do not attempt to change it yourself. Guest access On arrival we will let you know if we will be there to greet you, or if you will need to let yourself in. There is a small key safe to the side of the property that will contain a front door key. All downstairs rooms are shared spaces. Upstairs you will find your bedroom and bathroom. All other doors will be closed and marked private. The back door key is to be kept on the hook on the top left of the door. The side door key is to be kept on the hook inside the boiler cupboard on the left of the door. During your stay During your stay there will normally be someone home to help you with any questions or problems. Should we be out we will provide you with our mobile numbers where you can reach us. Other things to note COMMUNAL AREAS - Please tidy up after yourself in a timely fashion and be considerate of others using the space. Please take care of our home as you would your own. FAMILY HOME - We're a friendly bunch and always aim to be helpful. Please bear in mind this is a family home. As we have an 8 year old boy I cannot guarantee that there won't be a little noise from time to time. Please refrain from using bad language and keep conversations within communal areas appropriate for young ears.
