Stunning ground floor Eco-house annex

Edgar’s Place is the annexe attached to our home. The house as a whole is a low energy Passivhaus completed at the end of 2024. It comprises a cosy living/dining/kitchen with large windows overlooking the garden and views. The small kitchen is well equipped with oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge. The bedroom is accessed from the main room and has a comfortable king size bed. The en-suite has a large walk in shower. Outside we have a secluded patio area for guests with chairs and table. The space Edgar's Place offers you a rare opportunity to experience living in our newly completed passivhaus - one of a few in Yorkshire. You will be staying in a purpose built self-contained annexe apartment with a large garden and secluded patio perfect for a short break, romantic getaway or visiting the fabulous Peak District and the beautiful town of Holmfirth just 2 miles away. A cosy living/dining area with large french windows overlooks the extensive garden and fabulous views over the Pennines. The living area has a bluetooth speaker for your use and we also have Sky TV. The 1 bedroomed apartment is within our passivhouse envelope and benefits from the comfort of consistent 21 degree temperature all year round with no drafts and great constantly filtered fresh air. The small kitchen, well equipped with oven, induction hob, microwave, kettle toaster, coffee maker and fridge is situated within the kitchen/dining area. We provide a large range of teas and coffees, including pods for the nespresso machine and ground coffee for the cafetiere and always leave a pint of milk in the fridge for our guests. The cosy bedroom is accessed from the main room and has a comfortable king size bed with cotton or linen bedding, ample storage for clothes. The en-suite has a large walk in shower. Outside we have a secluded patio area for guests with chairs and table and a large lawned area for use of our guests and their furry friends - you are welcome to bring your pup- sorry only 1 per booking. Edgar's Place has its own large parking space with EV charger free for overnight charging. Steps lead to a private path to the front door. Our family live in the main part of the house as well as our 2 friendly labradors who may want to come and say hello during your stay. We are ideally located to explore local attractions such as Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Holmfirth, Hebden Bridge, Marsden, York, Leeds, Haworth, Harrogate the Peak District and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. We are a family of outdoor fanatics and can also help with cycle, walking and runnning route suggestions and logistics. Kath has put together a route booklet with walking or running suggestions with QR codes for you to access on your phone and Ian has a wealth of knowledge about local on and off road cycling routes. Guest access We have a dedicated parking spot for Edgar's Place. If you come in more than one vehicle, additional parking is available. There are steep steps from the parking space to the property - steps can be avoided by coming up the main drive and round the back of our garge where we have a smooth path all the way round to Edgar's Place front door. Other things to note The Yorkshire Penines are a real hot spot for cyclists. If you want to come with your bike - which we would highly reccommend, as long as you like hills, please let us know and we can keep it safe for you in our cycle store.
