Description

You'll enjoy the convenience of this ground level haven - it's 6 - 7 min walk to the "Somerled Strip" with shops, cafes, banks and post offices... It's 13 min by bus to the metro station, 15 min drive to Old Montreal. 36-40 min metro ride to downtown. 56 restaurants within 15 min transit... This clean and comfortable haven has a kitchen has been renovated in recent years. It is well-equipped with all the things you need whether you're a business traveler or tourists from out of town... The space Numero d 'insturissement 299867 Before we start, there is 3 THINGS PEOPLE LOVE about this Montreal travel haven: 1 - The LOCATION is fairly convenient. You are within 6 - 7 minutes walk of the "Somerled Strip" with shops, cafes, banks and post offices. There are 8 restaurants or eateries that rank 4 to 4.5 stars or higher that you can get to easily... You're also within 10 - 12 min public transit distance of the Chemin Queen Mary strip with cafes like Starbucks and Second Cup, restaurants, flower shops, eateries and more. There are over 22, that's right 22 4 to 4.5 stars or higher dining choices along the path to public transit station Metro Snowdon! The well reviewed, long time favourite Snowdon Deli is only 24 minutes away by walking, 15 minutes by bus. It's fresh and old fashinoed smoked deli meats, tasty soups and side dishes combined with fast, friendly service and warm atmosphere have made it a local hit by miles for many decades. That's just one of the 22 places we recommend you check out... The metro station is 13 min away by bus (30 min by walk)... which can take you anywhere throughout the city without worrying about parking if you desire... Your only 15 minutes away by public transit (under 27 by walking) to Monkland Village... a fantastic alternative to downtown Montreal that has more life than even Toronto's Queen Street East with way more options... all within reasonable distance of our place by public transit or walking... There you have over 16 possible eateries, restaurants and cafes that rank 4 to 4.5 stars or higher that you can visit during your stay... If you need suggestions for food, shopping, travel or other things because of the overwhelming number of choices (and can't make sense of internet maps) just let us know - we're happy to help you out. Taking the metro to the historic parts of Montreal and downtown only takes 36 - 40 minutes. Bus 51 alone can also take you straight into the heart of downtown Montreal (36 to 40 min trip) and this bus stop is only 2 minutes walk from the building. A 3 day metropass is very affordable... If you're in town to scope out schools for your kids if you're moving to Montreal, Cote St. Luc High School is right near the park, only 2 minutes walk away. If you're in town for winter or summer courses, the University of Montreal (UDM) can also be reached by Bus 51 (2 min walk from our building), taking only 36 minutes to reach it by public transit, 13 - 16 minutes by car or 22 - 23 minutes by biking. 2 - The CLEAN and COMFORTABLE space has new Ikea spring mattresses and versatile sofas... The kitchen has been renovated in recent years too... 3 - It is also WELL-EQUIPPED and WELL STOCKED with all the things you'll need for your stay whether you're a family or a business traveler or international tourist... If we don't have it yet, let us know ahead of time what you need and we will get it if reasonable... Here are 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before visiting the Montreal apartment: 1 - We live in a residential area, so NO PARTIES are permitted in the haven at all times during your stay. 2 - Our BUILDING IS MORE THAN 66 YEARS OLD. Although we put a lot of time and effort to maintain it, the washroom features a BATHTUB, which might not be the best option for people who have mobility problems. 3 - Like any other older buildings, the walls are not sound proof or sound dampening unlike newer buildings and this is something very typical of all homes built during the 1900s in Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal. That said, it's not something that bothers us as residents and that's why we ask all our guests to respect the neighbors and to not be loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building at all times during their stay. Also, we expect our Guests to be quiet after 11h00 PM. So if you intend to behave like a party animal, our haven is not for you but if you intend to behave like a respectful local, you should love your stay. Now that this is clear, let's get to the description of the place! (CITQ Establishment Number: 299867) Guest access Constructed in 1951, this apartment is located on the ground floor of an apartment building located just west of the heart of COTE-DES-NEIGES/NDG township (city hall is ~ 28 min walk away, 8 min by car) and it has been renovated and refurnished to accommodate as much as 6 GUESTS. ---- Please note that the building front door and the ground floor level is about two steps (roughly 31 cm) below street level. Someone with mobility issues may have some issues accessing the front door without assistance. ---- There are 2 bedrooms, roughly 600 sq ft of space with around 8 foot high ceilings. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, drip coffee machine, toaster oven and basic cooking gear to help entertain your guests. If there's something you need before you arrive we will try our best to get it and have it ready if you give us advance notice and it is reasonable. The 2 bedrooms have full size/double beds with bed sheets, pillows and covers. The living room has a full sized sofa bed that can fit an extra 2 people (for a total of 6 guests). The 40 inch wide TV has full internet capabilities through Apple TV with Netflix, Youtube, films/tv shows on demand through apps, web browser, smartphone screen sharing and more. The place also comes with a high speed wireless Internet network. The washroom only has a shower system/stall and there is a hair dryer underneath the sink, iron & ironing board stored in a closet. The apartment building has a coin operated washer & dryer on premises as part of the building facilities on the ground floor at street level. Please see the Amenities/What This Place Offers section for more details. Other things to note You'll find FREE PARKING right in front and behind our property... We'll do our best to guarantee you have your own private parking space before you arrive... especially if you let us know ahead of time.
