The space THE HOUSE Rose Cottage, an expanded farmhouse, is adorned in a contemporary ethnic-inspired design, exuding a serene and laid-back ambiance. The living room offers a cozy retreat with plush seating by a crackling log fire, ideal for reading or family games. Intimate candlelit dinners at the cedar table, enhanced further by the option to engage one of our freelance chefs for an indulgent culinary journey, follows sundowners by the fire pit. Accommodating 7 guests in 4 bedrooms, the master suite boasts a king-sized bed, ample dressing room space and an ensuite shower. Upstairs, one guest bedroom features a double bed, while the other offers two twin beds, with a shared bathroom containing a bath/ shower above it. Both bedrooms have a lovely view across the garden to the lake. Downstairs has a room with as 4' (small double) bed suitable for 1 person ideally! A nearby bathroom with a shower serves this room, ensuring convenience and comfort for all guests. Rose Cottage features a dedicated office space for digital nomads, equipped with a small desk, chair, and fiber WiFi. The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster, and all essential kitchenware to prepare delicious meals. Guests can enjoy relaxing on the veranda amidst bird songs, fish eagle calls, and playful monkeys in the trees. Watch grazing hippos at the garden's edge while enjoying a sundowner. BBQs are available for those who enjoy braais or nyama choma. While the courtyard at the rear of the house undergoes gradual renovation, it promises to become a charming sanctuary for tranquil moments and morning coffees, complete with a tucked-away laundry basin. Guest access GUEST ACCESS Take a refreshing dip in our pool or unwind with a good book under the shade of the palm tree. As you explore the property, feel free to wander, but kindly respect the privacy of other guests. Be cautious near the lake's edge, as hippos may be around during the day—our staff are available if you need assistance. For safety reasons, please avoid the old concrete building near the lake, especially after the high water levels—it's off-limits. Gather around your own fire pit in the garden, to enjoy watching the hippos graze nearby. Other things to note Please bring your own food and drinks as our cottages are self-catering.
