The property sleeps 22 with a large 3BD, 2BA house, three beautiful cabinas of varying sizes, and a new stunning upstairs suite. All units have kitchens. Imagine your group surrounded by nature, spotting monkeys and sloths, paddling to the sea, grilling at the barbecue, relaxing by the fire pit, and walking to charming local restaurants. You feel tucked away in a secluded jungle retreat, yet the property sits right off the main road for easy access to restaurants and a quick 15-minute drive to surfing, activities, and daytime shopping or nightlife in Puerto Viejo and Playa Cocles. The retreat offers a variety of inviting spaces: a spacious two-story 3BD/2BA main house, a bright 2BD/2BA cabina, a 1BD/1BA cabina with two sofa beds, a cozy studio, and a beautiful upstairs 1BD suite with treetop views and a modern kitchen. We offer several kayaks so your whole group can enjoy a river adventure together. Paddle upriver and drift through peaceful jungle, where you may see howler monkeys, playful spider monkeys, or even catch a rare glimpse of a white-faced capuchin. Sloths often appear in the trees, sometimes with their babies, and river turtles sun themselves along the banks. Heading the other direction, you can kayak straight out to the beach for a stunning coastal experience. Whether you’re visiting with a large family, several families, close friends, or a retreat group, Pachamama Nueva creates a memorable experience for everyone. You may rent the entire property or choose the unit that best fits your stay. All units are equipped with ceiling fans and stand fans, and a few offer air conditioning. Our manager, Elisa, is happy to recommend local tours, activities, and excellent nearby restaurants. Contact us and we will help set up the perfect place for you. Guest access As guests renting the entire property, you will have full access to all outdoor areas, including the barbecue pavilion, picnic tables, riverfront, gardens, and the large fire circle with seating for your group. There are washers and dryers on-site. If you need laundry service, simply arrange it with our manager, Elisa, and our staff can wash and dry your items for a small fee or tip. (Guest self-service is not available.) You will also have access to all kayaks, outdoor seating areas, and the peaceful paths throughout the property. Other things to note Most guests fly into SJO (Juan Santamaría International Airport) in San José. From there, you have several options to reach Pachamama Nueva: • Shuttle from San José: Private shuttles take about 5 hours and usually cost around $250. Shared group shuttles are more affordable, often around $65 depending on the season. • Local Bus: Budget-friendly public buses run daily from San José to Puerto Viejo, making this a popular and economical option. • Domestic Flight to Limón: You can take a short local flight from SJO to Limón with Sansa Airlines. From Limón, it’s about a 1 hour and 10 minute drive or taxi ride to Pachamama Nueva.
