Idyllic apartment under thatch

Live in the old village school opposite the Feldsteinkirche [fieldstone church]. In recent years, we have lovingly handcrafted a vacation apartment (60 m2) from the former classroom wing of the "Grot School", where the "groten" (big) students had their classroom. A light-flooded large eat-in kitchen forms the center of the stylish apartment. Centrally but rurally located, 15 minutes by car to the Kiel center, 25 minutes to the beach. Paddle on Eider & Westensee, hike in the nature park! The space The center of the apartment is the spacious, light-flooded eat-in kitchen with Scandinavian flair. A fully equipped new fitted kitchen, a cozy large dining area and a hygienic sofa corner are included. The bathroom is modern and also completely new. One bedroom is on the ground floor, equipped with a 1.60 m wide double bed. Through the large window, the view opens to the village church. In the dormer room there are two more single beds. This room is reached by a spiral staircase not recommended for toddlers and the elderly. In front of the house is a small front garden with seating that belongs to the apartment. In the shade of the linden trees a little oasis! Pets are not allowed. On weekends from May to September, we run a small garden café with a self-service counter and homemade cakes, to which our guests are cordially invited! Flemhude is a quiet cul-de-sac village, through which a listed linden avenue runs from the entrance to the church. Along the avenue there are still some thatched old cottages and half-timbered houses. Due to its unique charm, Flemhude is compared to Bullerbü by many visitors. The old village school is located in the center of the historic village center, at the end of Lindenallee opposite the old field stone church and its green area. Adjacent to the house is a large playground. In the entire area there is a 30 km/h zone, children can romp around here undisturbed, almost like in Bullerbü....! 50 meters behind the village church flows the Eiderring Canal, which flows into the Westensee - a popular paddling area! In Achterwehr, within walking distance via an idyllic hiking trail along the water, there is a canoe and kayak rental. Also just a short walk away you will reach the "village swimming area" on the Eider with a "mini beach" under trees (unofficial swimming area, not guarded). Other beautiful swimming spots are located on Lake Westensee, Lake Arendsee and Lake Pohlsee. The Westensee Nature Park offers numerous hiking trails through lakes and forests and even up to the heights of the Tüteberg, from where a view opens up to Kiel and Rendsburg. Cyclists can also start countless tours directly from the front door. The nearest shops are in Felde, approx. 5 minutes by car (Edeka, pharmacy, doctor's offices). From Achterwehr, trains run hourly to Kiel and Rendsburg (10-minute walk). There are also good bus connections directly from Flemhude to Kiel. In Felde there is a bicycle station of the Kiel Sprottenflotte. Feel free to use our (somewhat older and no longer chic) bicycles. A special highlight is the nationally known Flemhude Christmas market, which takes place every year on the Saturday before the 1st Advent Sunday around the old Feldsteinkirche. We offer a free laundry service.
