Description
An inviting and relaxing country retreat, freshly renovated with Edward Bulmer paints, Linwood fabrics, soft lighting and a completely new kitchen and bathroom with new crockery, glassware and cookware to make your stay comfortable and easy, a home away from home. Entirely separate from the main house with its own gravelled parking (for one car although two can be arranged) and use of a separate garden. The space Converted from former stables, a large kitchen is on the ground floor with oven, dishwasher, washing machine, under the counter fridge, milk frother, Our Place pans and utensils and pretty crockery and glasses. Upstairs is an open sitting room with views over our garden, a television, local guidebooks and games and screened behind is a pretty double bed with walk in cupboard and separate shower room. Guest access We have created a separate garden for your use, with a bistro table and chairs and a portable bbq (please clean well after use and use responsibly). You will see the green table and chairs beyond the five bar gate on the drive. Charcoal can be brought locally at either the village shop or the petrol station. Other things to note We have two very friendly working cocker spaniels, a Burmese x cat and some hens at the top of the garden. The dogs and the cat love to say hello and the cat may come in if you leave the front door open so if you would rather he didn't please keep it closed. You may see our torch when we let the dogs out at bedtime. Our neighbour's may walk their ponies down the drive from their stables during your stay. Our automatic wooden gates on the drive will open towards you as you leave by car. If you on foot, there is a green button to your left as you leave and on your right as you return, to press to open the gates. At night, the drive is very dark so please do take care walking up or down. There is an outside light operated by a switch on the outside corner of The Old Stables if you wish to use it. During the summer the pots of herbs opposite your front door are yours to cut as you wish. Manuals for appliances are in the navy ikat expanding folder in the kitchen. Power switches for the oven, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine are located under the kitchen sink. If you wish to use an ironing board, drying rack or hoover these can be supplied on request. If you need to take any rubbish out during your stay, our wheelie bins are to the left of the drive gates, black for recycling (rubbish must be loose and not bagged), green for waste (bagged) and black boxes for glass. The velux skylight blinds are operated by pressing up/down on the switches near the windows. Could we please ask that you remove muddy shoes and boots as you enter as the carpets are new.
