The Bruce is the perfect stay for guests eager to be in their own bubble, whether it be by the fire inside, in the outdoor bath, or by the creek. *All stays include breakfast box & farm raised BBQ beef pack The space The Bruce is a small but mighty space, that serves as a cosy, intimate setting for guests and is rich with stories of the farm in which it sits, an easy 15 minute drive from Glen Innes. The Bruce has been lovingly designed and built from many recycled materials from the property that once served a very different purpose, two generations ago. You'll find the walls lined with perfectly aged iron, the hardwood floors shining beautifully with a new life and all of the furniture and fittings proudly showing their age and endurance. All of these elements combined to create a warm, unique and wholesome setting and experience. The Bruce houses a luxurious King size bed complete with beautiful, high-quality linens, making your sleep extra dreamy. A fully equipment rustic kitchenette is just a few steps away, so coffee in bed has never been easier. Make use of the kitchen's gas cooktop or opt to cook on the BBQ on the deck, with views of the nearby roaming cattle. Choose to shower inside or enjoy some of the clearest skies whilst soaking in the outdoor bathtub. Surrounded by 1200-acres of working farmland The Bruce boasts a large outdoor space that includes a variety of sitting spaces, firepit and bath overlooking the ridge. Soak up the morning sun on the outdoor lounge or load up the picnic basket and head for a spot of fishing at the creek. No matter the weather, you'll find plenty to do at The Bruce, both inside and outside. At Morilla, we are passionate about producing healthy, ethical foods for ourselves and others, so as producers of cattle, sheep and mixed crops we have adopted a lot of regenerative farming practices to aid us in making this happen. We now offer Morilla grown and raised meat, which can be purchased by guests during their stay. Enjoy one of our delicious BBQ beef packs or a warm, hearty winter slow cooker on the fire. Guest access Guests staying at The Bruce have access to walk within a small paddock nearby to the cabin, or down the hill to the creek. Guests may also visit and use another part of the creek (accessed from main driveway) for fishing and picnicking, which can be reached by walking or driving Other things to note The Bruce is a tiny cabin and is intended to be a place for guests to stop, unwind and be. For guests to leave their busy lives for a moment and really sink into the feeling of calm and reconnecting with themselves or each other. So, while The Bruce does not have Wifi or a television, it is well equipped with games, books, a Bluetooth speaker and lots of outdoor activity options. If you're a lover of an afternoon movie, be sure to pack an iPad with movies downloaded. A complimentary breakfast box of farm fresh seasonal produce is supplied to guests on arrival.
