This Unique Guesthouse is located in historic downtown Farmington, with its beautiful tree lined streets & pioneer homes. Settled in 1847 at the foot of the amazing Wasatch Mountains. Walking distance to Lagoon, The Western Sports Park, beautiful trails, the City Park & pool, and Farmington Station shopping & entertainment plaza. Or you can take the free city trolley to most of these! We are centrally located between Utah‘s major ski resorts and within 20 minutes of downtown Salt Lake City. The space We are a great location for Families, Friends, Couples or Singles looking for a central location to Lagoon Amusement Park, local Ski Resorts, Station Park Shopping, Salt Lake City Metro and the great Wasatch Front Mountain Trails and Lakes. We are very close to the local Sports Tournament Facilities as well. Our space is also a great stopover en route to many National Parks in Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho. We live on property in the Main House (Honeybee Cottage) and added the Guesthouse "BumbleBeech Cottage" adjacent to the back of our main house when we built our home. The Guesthouse has it’s own entrances, and there is a firewall between the 2 seperate homes. The Bed Configuration is as follows: ~1 King Size Bed Bedroom on Upstairs level ~1 Bedroom with a Queen Bed and 2 Twin Beds (1 twin over trundle twin) on Basement level ~Twin Size Daybed in TV/Family room on basement level ~Twin Size Air Mattress with bedding is available for a Fee of $10 a night. If you have 8 people and want this option, please notify us in the booking request so we can send that thru as an additional cost as we only have availablity for7 guests in the booking. This air mattress can be used in the TV family room OR in the Upstairs Bedroom open walk in closet space) ~Please note that we do NOT permit sleeping on the regular couch As we are a brand new build (we just moved in last fall), we haven't had a chance to complete all of the yardwork. Currently the Guesthouse has its own private terrace in the back. There is outdoor furniture, an umbrella and cafe lights for that space. There is not a play area for children, but the good news is that there is a city park with a playground and grassy fields right around the corner! We also have easy access to the Farmington Lagoon Trail right across the street and down the dead end street. The trail is great for exploring and enjoying nature. We ask that our private covered patio at the back of our home (the cement steps) is not accessed by our guests. The garage is also private space. We are happy to interact with you during your stay if that's what you would like, but we also respect your privacy and will not intrude on your stay. Please recognize that we do live here in the Main house full time, and we use our patio and garage so we will be in the back space from time to time. Additionally, as weather and time allows, we will be doing yard work and gardening. I made sure to outfit the kitchen for anyone that wants to cook a meal while they're staying in the cottage. Due to space constraints however, not every cooking or baking item could fit in the kitchen. Should you have need of something that is not currently provided, please feel free to ask and I'm sure I'll have what you need to borrow as I'm a Culinary Instructor (Emily) and have a lot of items. Please note that the decorative Charcuterie Boards on the open shelves are ONLY for serving food, but there are regular cutting boards in the cabinet between the stove and fridge. On that note, Harmons Grocery at Station Park has an amazing selection of Cheeses, Meats, Crackers etc. to create a fun Grazing meal. Smiths nearby also has a great selection. If you prefer to cook from scratch, I've provided a great collection of cookbooks with easy and friendly recipes, including some local Utah and local Cultural ones. Our tap water is good quality. Todd's parents live right next door to us and will be generally available if we are not home during your stay should any concerns arise that you need help with. Any other questions before or after booking, please feel free to ask! Guest access Guests are able to use the full Guesthouse Cottage interior Space. The homeowners adjacent Back patio space is private. Because we just moved in a few months ago, yardwork has not been totally completed. However, there is a small private terrace for our cottage guests with a small eating table and chairs and a chaise lounge. For ambience, there are cafe lights and an umbrella. For outdoor activities, there is a city park just around the corner and trail systems access within walking distance.
