The Lazy Leopard Lodge & Guest Cottage

The Lodge is a comfortable industrial-modern, meets bush-veld casual space. Metal beams and exposed brick accent walls, are softened with floor to ceiling bookshelves and high thatched roof. Open plan design leading to patios, give a sense of space and tranquility. Indoor and outdoor gardens create a lush environment. Lodge has well equipped kitchen, large library, fibre internet with strong wifi coverage in all buildings. The space The lodge is a luxurious retreat from the bustle of our cities, it is close to all the tourist attractions in this area and ideal as a staging point or half way stop. A comfortable home from home for the whole family. The 4 bedrooms are spacious, with luxury linens, ensuite bathrooms and private courtyard with extra outside shower for enjoying starlight ablutions. The loft space has secluded sleeping area , which comprises the 5th bedroom and has use of guest bathroom downstairs. A variety of lounges and comfortable seating areas inside and out, give guests options for relaxing together or in private. Library, board games, puzzles and toys for the kids, will keep everybody entertained and although we do not have channel TV, we offer Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV streaming on the big screen in main lounge. Kitchen and scullery is well stocked with top of the range appliances, crockery, cutlery. Lodge has cleaning staff available weekdays to ensure a more relaxing holiday. Cleaning services over weekends are extra and have to be arranged with host in good time. Attention to detail is our mantra and we endeavour to meet our guests highest expectations. The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is home to a variety of plains game, with regular sightings of our resident leopards. The absence of elephants, buffalos, lions and rhinos allow you to explore the estate’s greenbelt area on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. The green belt has clearly marked walking and bicycle trails and three dams with bird hides for enthusiasts. You can use your own vehicle on game viewing drives through the green belt using designated roads. Guest access The whole lodge, except scullery courtyard is available to the self catering guests and there is parking for three vehicles on property. All access roads from gate are tarred. Roads in the green belt are well kept dirt roads. Main entrance to estate is through the town of Hoedspruit, with the shops available within walking distance from our gates. Our guidebook gives more details about shops, restaurants and activities in the immediate area, as well as surrounds. Gate access codes are supplied to guests on day of check in and host will greet guests upon arrival. Other things to note The Lodge is not a party destination, but a retreat from the noise and bustle of city life. Recharge your batteries and reconnect with nature, relax next to the pool or curl up on one of many comfy couches with a book. The rules of our estate management need to be followed, but are basic common sense for anyone staying on an estate. The wild animals have free roam in the estate and are given right of way everywhere. Always keep a respectful distance to even the cutest baby giraffe, as his momma might not appreciate close contact. Stick to the marked walks and trails and you will see plenty of animals on your outings. A large area of our private property is fenced and walled with lush lawn and shade trees, providing a safe area for young children to play, although we still advise supervision as snakes and bugs are not kept out by fencing!
