From here you can also take a passenger ferry over to Mallaig (6.5 miles), a village on the mainland. Back on Skye, take a walk along the southern coastal path to reach The Point of Sleat (5 miles), a spot with a spectacular white sand beach, a small gorge and rugged rock formations leading to impeccable views. Enhanced by the light that floods into the property, this single-storey cottage is bright and cheerful.
