Description

Welcome to the Cabane Pain d'Épices, a tiny house in the heart of a peaceful village in Sundgau, south of Alsace. At the crossroads of Alsatian vineyards, Switzerland and Germany, it is ideal for a romantic weekend or a nature break. Facing a wild pond, our wooden cabin and sauna offer a natural setting, high-end comfort and an eco-responsible commitment, for a calm and rejuvenating break. The space Cabin in the middle of nature in a preserved setting facing a wild pond, composed of: > a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove, the perfect place to warm up after a walk, with a good book and a steaming cup at your fingertips. > a fully equipped kitchen: sink, 2-burner gas stovetop, refrigerator, complete cookware (dishes, pots, pans, tea towels), manual coffee machines, enamel kettle. Essentials – olive oil, salt, tea, coffee, sugar – are provided to simplify your arrival. All without superfluous energy consumption: no microwave, oven or appliances with high power consumption, to respect the ecological approach of the place. > a comfortable and ecological bathroom: walk-in shower with hot water, eco-labeled products (shower gel & shampoo), sink with soap, cream and toothpaste and integrated dry toilet. Bath linen is available. > a mezzanine bedroom: king size bed, premium cotton gauze bed linen, a soft duvet and two pillows per person for absolute comfort, worthy of a hotel. > and a private terrace and garden overlooking nature: several spaces are at your disposal to enjoy the outside of the cabin. Enjoy your meals in the shade of a large tree, share a drink at the tiny house bar, relax in the sauna or extend the evening under the stars, comfortably seated in the armchairs around the brazier, enjoying the crackling fire and roasting marshmallows, all lit by the soft glow of the light garland. Minimalist decor and modern, high-end amenities. INCLUDED SERVICES Upon arrival, you will find in your kitchen a homemade breakfast with fresh, local and seasonal products (bread, butter, jams, fruit, tea, coffee, sugar...) Many à la carte services (meals, drinks...) are also available for your stay. Possibility to pay in advance or on site (cash or card). A SELF-CONTAINED AND ECO-FRIENDLY CABIN Experience living a few days in our totally self-sufficient tiny house, thanks to its solar panels and rainwater collection tank. It has no impact on its environment, because it is on wheels and has no foundation, and wastewater is discharged through a micro-treatment plant. It was built with eco-friendly materials (wood from the Vosges, insulation with recycled jeans, etc.) and it was decorated responsibly and minimalist. The meals offered in the cabin are homemade from seasonal and local products (from our garden when possible) and with maximum zero waste. THE SWEET LIFE AT THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE It's putting down your phone, going for a walk in nature, enjoying a good book, cooking together, laughing around a board game, leaving room for boredom, dreams and meditation. It's staying warm under a blanket watching the rain or snow fall, lighting the wood stove and heating the kettle, relaxing in the sauna or even putting the world back together around a crackling fire. It's taking a nap, chatting for hours, practicing yoga on the terrace facing nature, tasting the joys of simple things. This is our vision of slow life: a simple and authentic way of life, conducive to relaxation, wonder at nature, and reconnection to oneself as well as to one's loved ones. Guest access You will have access to the entire cabin as well as the terrace, garden and one hectare meadow around the cabin. The tiny house is located on our one-hectare plot. We live on the same land (but the tiny house is isolated enough to ensure peace and quiet). Other things to note Sleeping in a tiny house is much more than a night at the hotel — it's a real off-the-beaten-track experience 🌲. To best prepare for your stay, here are some tips and information: 🥾 Access to the cabin: • The cabin is located in our meadow, access is on a grass path about 200 m from the parking area. • Choose good shoes or boots in case of rain/snow, and bags rather than suitcases. 🔦 Night arrival: • Plan to bring a flashlight to reach the cabin (we also provide one inside). 🔥 In winter: • The cabin is heated only with a wood stove. • Upon arrival, we will have prepared a fire so that the cabin is warm. • Then you can maintain and light the fire yourself (everything you need is provided). • In Alsace, it can be very cold: remember to bring warm clothes for your stay. 💦 Limited resources: • The tiny house is self-contained and depends on natural resources (rain, sun). Depending on the weather or the number of visitors, water or electricity may be limited from time to time, but this is part of the experience: living to the rhythm of nature. Thank you for your understanding and attention to preserving these valuable resources. The cabin is non-smoking and no pets are allowed.
