The Brewery Suite Superior-Deluxe-Suite
Peacocks Tearoom and Fine B and B
Description
Our two spacious, comfortable and homely suites, sat above the prize-winning tearoom in a Georgian building by the historic quayside on the River Great Ouse, are packed with antiques and books. All the attractions of Ely, as well as the open fenland countryside and railway station, are within easy walking distance. Breakfasts here are memorable: whether you start with our special granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt cocktail or go straight to a croque madame or Welsh rabbit, you won’t go hungry. The space The Brewery Suite is first choice if you want to enjoy extra room to spread out. Both the spacious bedroom and its large adjoining private living-room overlook the picturesque quayside and are furnished with antiques. Enjoy the river view from the comfort of the king size bed. The roomy ensuite bathroom has both a roll-top bath and a modern shower as well as a wash-hand basin, WC and bidet. The sitting room has a table with 4 chairs, a library of books, 2 settees (one can be made up as a sofa-bed) and more. Tea and coffee making facilities, wifi and tv will help you feel at home. There’ll be homemade shortbread and a plate of fresh fruit. At check-in you’ll be greeted with tea and cake. Breakfast is served downstairs in the tearoom. During your stay George & Rachel set up the tearoom in one room of their home in 2004, with George as front of house and Rachel cooking. It soon became known for its good food and friendly and homely character and within 3 years the Tea Guild named it the Top Tea Place in the UK. Now the tearoom occupies the ground floor and George and Rachel live in a new house behind the tearoom. They are helped in the B&B and tearoom by lovely staff headed by manager Krisztián and his wife Kat who runs the kitchen. If you need help planning your stay we are happy to share our local knowledge and answer your questions.
