Relax with the whole family at this peaceful country escape. The 3 bedroom guesthouse is located on beautiful 5 acre farmette surrounded by fields and woods. This late 1800s tenant farmhouse has been beautifully restored to combine rustic charm with modern amenities. Many nearby attractions, including the NCR trail, Prettyboy Reservoir and breweries. 5 min from New Freedom and 15 min from Shrewsbury. Only a short drive from DC, Baltimore, Lancaster, York and Harrisburg. The space The three bedroom guesthouse is the original tenant farmer's house from this 1800s homestead that has been beautifully restored. Enjoy beautiful sunrises over the fields and dairy farm across the road from the rocking chairs on the front porch, or the private patio surrounded by a rose garden. The living room has plenty of places to sit and relax, including a dining room table. TV with a Firestick so you can use any of your streaming accounts. The first bedroom is located on the first floor and has a queen bed. The other two bedrooms are located on the second floor; the first with a queen bed and the second with two twin beds. All bedrooms have beautiful natural light, but are also equipped blackout shades. The fully-equipped kitchen is ready for cooking and baking, and has a lovely island for hanging out in the kitchen space. Coffee and tea are provided, as well as salt, pepper, and some basic spices. Full bathroom with walk-in shower on the first floor, and is stocked with basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Clean linens and towels provided. Extra blankets and pillows available. We welcome children! Pack and play available on request. Guest access The guesthouse has a private patio with seating, surrounded by a flower garden. Great for coffee in the mornings or an evening drink. There is dedicated parking for guests on gravel drive at back of the guesthouse. It's conveniently located by the back door to guest house for easy loading/unloading. Guests will have access to the full property and can enjoy walks in the fields and wooded area. Property boundaries are marked by fencing. However, please do not enter any of the outbuildings (including the barn). Other things to note Owners live in the main house on the property (just across the driveway from guest house). We have 2 friendly hounds, Islay and Ellie. When outside, they are restricted to the fenced area around the main house and don't freely roam the property. As hounds do, they may bark at you, but are very friendly. If dogs scare you, please let us know!
