Vaanavil Farm Stay - Palluyir : Garden-view room

Get away from it all when you experience the slow quiet life at a picturesque organic farm nestled under the foothills of the western ghats! The space Noushadya and I built our earth house, Bhoomi and the guest house, Vaanavil Farm Stay after establishing Vaanavil Farm & Food Forest in 2018. Vaanavil Farm Stay is constructed using traditional and sustainable techniques, including mud mortar, lime & oxide plasters, a variant of madras terrace for roofing, terracotta tiles and kadappa flooring, and are equipped with mosquito meshes. Each room has a queen size double bed. For occupancy beyond 2 people, we will provide extra mattresses. We run an organic farm shop at the farm with a collective of 20 farmers in Tirunelveli and Tenkasi district. Please feel free to visit. Noushadya and I live with our daughter, Vanya at Bhoomi, most of the year. Bhoomi is next door to Vaanavil Farm Stay. We want to provide a space to connect our guests with nature, agriculture and a simple way of life. In the long term, we want our farm to be a learning centre for organic farming practicioners and a stepping stone for more people to lead a more sustainable village life away from the hustle & bustle of city. Guest access We will take you around for a farm tour on the first or second day of your stay. You will get a sense of which parts of the farm you can walk around. It is best to step out in groups, during the day. Stepping out after dark is not advisable other than the guest house. And if you must get out during the night, use of torch is must. During your stay Bhoomi, where Noushadya & I, Sudhakar live is right next to Vaanavil Farm Stay. One of us will be here 24 x 7 during your stay for any assistance that you need. Other things to note We want Vaanavil Farm Stay to be a space for relaxation, rejuvenation, introspection, meditation, art, conversations and education. Noushadya and I have a young daughter, with whom you will be spending some with. Other than the rare faint sound of loudspeakers from the distant villages during festivals, both days and nights are very quiet. We sleep at around 9 pm and wake up at 6 am. We request you to maintain silence during this period. We therefore request you to not look at this place as a space for partying or alcohol consumption. If you must have a drink, we request you to do it in within your room without disturbing the tranquility of the farm and the species that inhabit it. We request you to refrain from smoking within the farm premises. We request you to carry all non -compostable waste along with you back to the town to dispose off safely. Anything that can be composted, you can add to the compost pile in the animal shed. Local Organic Farm-Fresh Home-cooked Vegetarian F&B charges : All 3 meals : ₹1200 per person Lunch only : ₹600 per person Breakfast or Dinner only: ₹300 per person The charges above are for persons above 12 years of age. For children between 5 and 12, the charges are half the price. For children below 5, there will be no charges. Egg, Chicken and duck dishes will be served in case of group size 4 or more for an extra charge. Please inform Noushadya at least a day in advance.
