Description
Located on the edge of the South Downs National Park but still within easy reach of London, we invite you to come and relax in our peaceful family home. Enjoy spectacular sunsets and lazy Sunday mornings on the large terrace, walk for miles right from the doorstep, snuggle up by the wood burner on cold winter nights or visit the many wonderful country pubs we have nearby. With flexible bed arrangements, it's the perfect place to spend time with friends or family. The space There are five bedrooms available, including the first floor's master suite which has a superking bed, en-suite and it's own private balcony. There are two bedrooms which can be set up as single or twin rooms, and two further single bedrooms, as well as a family bathroom, shower room and WC. There is a large open plan kitchen, dining and living room which is the real heart of the home, as well as a separate playroom with lots of games, nerf guns and a piano for you to use. If you need to work, there is a separate office for you to use with WIFI throughout the house. And accessed from outside is a small gym with a stationary bike, rowing machine, punching bag and exercise mat. In summer, dine on the huge rear terrace which stretches the full length of the house, and make use of our BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven. If you enjoy birdwatching, you're likely to see red kites, thrushes, finches, woodpeckers, nuthatches, jays and even a friendly heron which likes to hangout on the terrace! There's plenty of bird food for you to use to encourage their visits. With over half an acre, the fully enclosed garden is a child's playground, with a large trampoline, trapeze and rope ninja course, as well as a treasure trove of woodland camp fires and secret dens. The house borders Marley Common, which leads directly on to the Sussex Border path, the Serpent Trail and the South Downs National Park. You can enjoy hundreds of kilometres of walking and biking trails right from our doorstep (and we have plenty of maps you can borrow). Our local pub has been named Surrey's best pub and is under 10 minutes walk away. Haslemere also has an excellent range of independent restaurants, ships, more pubs, a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, lots of playgrounds, multiple supermarkets, it's own museum and the best homemade ice cream parlour you'll probably go to! If you'd like to venture further afield, the train station is less than 2 miles away, with trains to London in 50 minutes, or it's only 30 minutes drive down to the south coast. We particularly like going to the beaches of Hayling Island or West Wittering. Goodwood, Cowdray, Chichester, Winchester, Portsmouth, Farnham and Guildford are all easily reached. Guest access Nestled at the end of a small private lane, there is parking for 5 cars on the gated in-out driveway. Please note that there is one side which has a more steep access which is not suitable for low sports cars. The best place to park is directly outside the garage. You will have exclusive use of the property, including the house and garden. The garage will be locked for the duration of your stay. Other things to note We welcome one well behaved dog, we just ask that your furry friend stays in the large open plan living space and utility room. Please do not let them enter the bedrooms or climb on any furniture, and remember to clean up after them in the garden! You are welcome to use the dog towels provided and we hope they enjoy the tasty treats left out just for them. There is an additional charge of £30, so please do notify us at the time of booking. As this is a pet friendly house, please be aware of potential allergens. Please note this is our family home with our belongings there. Please respect this and take care to read the house manual on arrival so you know what can be used.
