The Red Farmhouse - Renovated in 2019 ~ 3 acres

120 year old classic farmhouse . Newly renovated / decorated. We’ve put a lot of elbow grease into this passion project. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do ! The space This private farmhouse retreat built circa 1900 has been tastefully renovated. Includes brand new appliances , Keetsa mattresses and luxury linens (Le Germain). We had “AirBnB”Ed often so we put a lot of effort into the sleeping arrangements. We also redid the kitchen (Smeg fridge, Wolfe stove, new butcher block, farmers sink, new dishwasher, etc.) and the laundry pantry (new washer dryer). The house is open with high ceilings . Working fireplaces in both the library and living room . House offers open majestic views from the top of the hill. Partial lake view to the east (great sunrise), 30 acres of undeveloped woodlands to the north and full view of our neighbors organic farm to the west . Guest access Whole property Other things to note - 4 acre open property up on a hill. - Outdoor Firepit - Outdoor shower (water is off in winter) -Improvements ongoing (this is a passion project , we fell in love with the magic in litchfield county , wanted a place to teach my kids to swim , fish , sail , ski , etc. ) -No TV, this is by design. I have many books , read a book , cook , sing , dance , do absolutely anything other than watch a screen. -We do have high speed WiFi (much to my chagrin). -Farmer Rich the neighbor is ultra friendly. If you are lucky he might let you pick your own eggs . - May 2020 improvements : Have just added a hammock between the Apple trees . Have cleared about half an acre to expose the old stone wall . Installed bat boxes around the property (bats are harmless and eat all the mosquitoes). New Storm doors & Basement windows. -September 2020 improvements : Kids playset , more land cleared , basement windows fixed, new back steps. -January 2021 improvements : Newly insulated attic & basement , 1920s antique cast iron stove installed in the library fireplace. More land cleared. -Respectfully, there are no discounts . I’m sorry but this is our home . We’ve set our ask where it is for good reason. -This is not an AirBnB party pad. No parties , large groups , events , etc.
