Within the quiet and secure grounds of Montriou Castle, biodiversity is preserved, and you are welcome to enjoy it! Accommodation configured for 10 people, with the possibility of adding extra mattresses for up to 12 people. BOTH PROPERTIES ARE LOCATED AT THE SAME ADDRESS The space The first traces of a stronghold on the sites of the current castle of Montriou date back to the 12th century. In the 15th century, Montriou is already a mansion, to which is added the so-called 3 Maries chapel, in honor of King René d 'Anjou. We look forward to sharing the chapel with you upon request. Since the 17th century, Montriou hasn't changed a family anymore! Late 19th century, architect Heulin oversees the work that gives Montriou his neo-Gothic architecture, in the style of primitive construction, as we know it today. A vegetable garden and orchard are created, a pond, a grove, alleys embellished with trees and varied essences, complete the surroundings of the castle. The rest of the environment is intentionally left in its natural state of meadows, fields, hedges. Montriou then takes its final form, as we know the site today. We (Florent and Françoise) took over from Florent's parents by settling in full time in Montriou, with our 3 young children, in the summer of 2023. Today, we are committed to maintaining, restoring, rehabilitating the buildings of these wonderful places, before later passing on this heritage to our children. We only consider ourselves as custodians and passersters of history, at the service of a family adventure started in Montriou by our ancestors! The entire amount of your rental will be used for the restoration and maintenance of the premises. ! Each room is ventilated to cope with the high temperatures! ! THIS ACCOMMODATION CAN BE COMBINED WITH THE 8-PERSON ACCOMMODATION WE OFFER! BOTH PROPERTIES ARE LOCATED IN THE SAME PLACE! The cottage we offer is located in the old gardener's house, restored and renovated to welcome you as best as possible. This house is one of the buildings that frame a gravelled courtyard, where you can park. As the park is a biodiversity reserve, forest animals are never far away :) wild boar, foxes, deer, pheasants, partridges, woodcocks, ducks, and raccoons can all be part of the scenery... Inside the house, you enter directly into the living room, which includes a fully equipped open kitchen (fridge-freezer, electric oven, gas stove, dishwasher, electric kettle, DolceGusto coffee machine, Italian coffee maker, drip coffee maker, toaster, and everything you need to cook!), and a dining table that can seat all guests. Through the stay, you have access to the following rooms: - a closed office to work remotely (we have installed the satellite internet connection to guarantee you good conditions and wifi is available throughout the house) the office can also be used as a baby room... and the crib is on wheels, so it can easily reach another room if needed! - a lounge with a sofa, armchairs, connected TV, reading and games for young and old - one bedroom to accommodate 6 people, divided into 2 single beds + 2x2 bunk beds, closet with hangers, luggage rack, TV - one bedroom with 90x190 double bed, closet-wardrobe, luggage rack, TV - a bathroom, towel dryer, washing machine, hair dryer From the staircase located in the living room, you access the master suite, which includes - one bedroom with 90x190 double bed, closet-wardrobe, luggage rack, TV - a private bathroom, towel dryer, hair dryer From upstairs, you have an unobstructed view of the other buildings and the surrounding park. For baby care, you will find in the office a crib. The house also comes equipped with a high chair and a suitable bath. In case of multiple small children, umbrella beds can also be provided if needed. Due to its disposition, the house does not lend itself to welcoming people in wheelchairs, we are sorry that we are unable to receive them. Pets are welcome, subject to being already clean and sociable, and having validated together, at the time of booking, the species and breed. Contact us beforehand if you need to adjust the number of animals involved. Unfortunately, the power grid is not suitable for charging electric vehicles. Under the stairs you will find the vacuum cleaner, broom, ironing table and iron, ... We provide you with the essentials you need for your stay and thank you for the courtesy of replacing any items you have used/finished, so that the guests after you can also benefit from them. Finally, for your comfort, all the mattresses, pillows, and duvets were replaced in the spring of 2026! And all the 100% cotton linens (bed, bath, kitchen) are at your disposal; the heating is on so that the house is heated upon your arrival when necessary! The garden furniture (dining area + relaxation area), the barbecue, and the parasol—everything is ready for you to enjoy the calm and pleasant Angevin atmosphere! A bike shelter is also available if needed. The places form an ideal starting point for many visits, both cultural and festive:) the castles of the Loire, Nantes and the seaside, the castle of Angers and the grandiose tapestries of the Apocalypse, the castles of Plessis-Bourré, Montgeoffroy, Lorie, Serrant, the Terra Botanica plant park or the AquaVita aquatic center at the entrance to Angers, the famous Zoo of La Flèche, the animal biopark of Doué en Anjou, the Angevins vineyards, the Puy du Fou, the annual events that are the 24 HOURS of Le Mans, the Mondial du Lion (famous horse races at the Lion d 'Angers), ... Any feedback on the layout of the premises is of course welcome, in order to help us progress to best meet your expectations:) Guest access Your accommodation is located at the end of the castle park, close to the wooded areas: quiet countryside guaranteed! Possible wildlife observation :) As everywhere in France, we have been experiencing severe weather for 2 years: we are nevertheless committed to ensuring the regular maintenance of the avenue very regularly and always do our best to welcome you! Other things to note We offer quiet accommodation in a preserved environment, so we are unable to host festive events. Only family or corporate events are allowed, subject to respect for the premises.
