The space The living room couch opens into a queen size futon if needed. Fresh linens are in a basket in the closet for the living room couch. The Gilded Age one bedroom apartment is two miles from the Hudson River, historic downtown Troy (home of Uncle Sam, nineteenth century iron ore and shirt collar industries). Troy hosts an award-winning GIGANTIC, year-round Farmers Market, The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, diverse restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. Favorite Parks include Prospect Park (tennis, pickle ball, outdoor gym, frisbee golf, playground and many old growth trees) and Frear Park, municipal golf course, playground, fields for snowshoeing and ungroomed cross country skiing. Troy is 15 minute drive to Albany, NY’s state capital, 20 minutes from southern Vermont and western Massachusetts. 40 minutes from Saratoga Performing Arts Center and the vintage Saratoga Horse Racecourse. The Berkshire’s Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, the Clark Museum and many theater companies are a 45 minute drive. The capital region includes four cities: Troy, Albany, Saratoga Springs and Schenectady and sits in the foothills of four mountain ranges: the Adirondacks, the Catskills, the Berkshires and the Heidelbergs.
