Other things to note Traveling from Larnaca Airport to Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is generally easy, practical, and hassle-free for tourists. ✈️ General process • After landing at Larnaca Airport (South Cyprus), you travel to Northern Cyprus by road. • There are several crossing points between the South and the North, such as Metehan/Agios Dometios, Ledra Palace, and Beyarmudu/Pyla. These crossings are open to tourists and are usually quick and straightforward. 🛂 Border control • You will be asked to show your passport or ID, and the check is usually brief. • For most visitors (including holders of Turkish, EU, and UK passports), no visa is required. • To avoid any issues when returning to the South, Northern Cyprus may place the entry stamp on a separate entry form instead of your passport. 🚕 Transportation options 1️⃣ Taxi / private transfer (most comfortable option): • Direct transportation from Larnaca Airport to your accommodation in Northern Cyprus. • Drivers are usually experienced and assist with border procedures. • Approximate cost to Kyrenia (Girne): €60–90, depending on location. 2️⃣ Rental car: • Some car rental companies allow crossing to the North; however, additional insurance may be required. 3️⃣ Budget option (bus + walking): • You can take a bus from Larnaca to Nicosia, cross on foot via Ledra Street, and then continue with local transportation in Northern Cyprus. • This option is more economical but slightly more complicated. 🚧 Are there any issues? • Overall, this route is smooth and commonly used by tourists. • During peak hours, there may be short waiting times at the border, but this does not complicate the process. 🧳 Helpful tips • Keep your passport or ID easily accessible during the crossing. • You may request that the entry stamp be placed on a separate paper if preferred. • If renting a car, please confirm cross-border insurance coverage in advance. ✅ Summary Traveling from Larnaca to Northern Cyprus is easy, safe, and very common for tourists.
